In the recent Agm the chairman said "the company has made a positive start to the financial year and the board remains optimistic about prospects for the business."

Pre-tax losses have also nearly halved from 6.4 mln to a loss of 3.4 mln on cost cutting. They have also had a successful fund raising.

Also chart indicators show that it may be time for the next leg upwards past recent resistance at 7.5p. and please remember you are responsible for the timing of your own buying and selling actions.

MMs playing around with the price before the big surge (hopefully) at the results in 3 or 4 weeks
I agree more posts/opinions would be welcome

Hi RS, I D Data is up today isnt it, thought I had seen it tick up. There has been a good reason for I D Datas weakness over the past few weeks and it involves loan notes which were offered to institutions as a form of raising capital for I D D. 4 million were offered at 5.5p and pay 7% interest per annum. The market price of the share at the time was 3p on announcement. The problem has been that the shares raced ahead on news from the government and the Banks ( big customers)to just over 11p, the institutions profit starved for over three years in effect have said forget the 7% interest we will take over 100% capital return. They have therefore exchanged their loan notes for share and have sold them, taking the profits on offer. This has been going on for a few weeks now but looks to be abating. The good news for the company is two fold in that they have raised the extra working capital they required and they no longer have to sevice the interest payments on the loan notes sold.

cheers Gf.

GF,

How many shares are you talking about here..I don't think that all institutions
that participated are sellers. Maybe just the one, otherwise we would have had quite a few million. The MMs did walk this down on low volume and even today the sells have been absorbed with the bid up.I look forward to the results in the next 3 weeks or so.

goldfinger - 21 Nov 2003 21:02 - 131 of 1253

JB, your right of course, but they were the ones who started the selling actions and the speculators who were onboard, and there have been an awful lot, when they saw the price rising day after day like it did have compounded the situation downwards.

I think 4.25 million loan notes raised off top of my head. And they can raise more to a max of around 4 million up until next early summer I think. Best to check on RNS.

Seems to me I D Data have been victims of their own success, but still think that this is a sound share and still holding. Once all the banks start placing orders we should see some action. Hope we get some news at the results on contracts.

cheers GF.

jfletendre - 11 Dec 2003 14:52 - 133 of 1253

Apparently the interims are going to be announced before Xmas with a possible date of Dec 18th being mentioned by the company.
Anyone any idea of what to expect? Any holders of this? GF - are you still holding?
Anna

ticker - 11 Dec 2003 15:39 - 134 of 1253

rampage - 11 Dec 2003 15:59 - 135 of 1253

Me too, loads of shares averaged to 7.8p But more than happy too hold
Not too worried about slight drop in price as Iam sure things are going in the right direction (Share price to follow!)

jfletendre - 11 Dec 2003 16:11 - 136 of 1253

ticker - you're not alone - I bought in at 11p too :-( and am still holding - interims 18th Dec - anyone have any idea what to expect?

azhar - 12 Dec 2003 09:18 - 137 of 1253

I'm still holding bought loads @ 11.75p. Will continue to hold as the company is heading the right direction.

jfletendre - 12 Dec 2003 09:48 - 138 of 1253

Azhar - do you have any idea what flavour the results will have?

bosley - 15 Dec 2003 11:20 - 139 of 1253

anybody know for definate when the interims are ? a few people said the 18th dec , is this a definate date?

jfletendre - 15 Dec 2003 12:34 - 140 of 1253

Yes,the 18th it is

Legins - 17 Dec 2003 09:43 - 141 of 1253

Does anyone with L2 know why the mm's have dropped the price by 16.6% when the buy volume outwiegh the sells 34:1?

eibbor - 17 Dec 2003 10:01 - 142 of 1253

It opened down (@5.75) The question is whether they dropped the price to get some stock and the 280,000 sale fell out of the tree, or if the 280,000 was sold pre-market hence the drop. My view is that they wanted stock as they know the results tomorrow are going to be fantastic! (ever the optimist - lol!)

Legins - 17 Dec 2003 10:29 - 143 of 1253

Fantastic results? - hope you're right!

goldfinger - 17 Dec 2003 11:59 - 144 of 1253

Yes one to ponder over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gf.

bosley - 17 Dec 2003 13:17 - 145 of 1253

whats L2 and where can i look to see buy and sell volumes for individual companies? also , i am optimistic that the results are going to be good .

bosley - 18 Dec 2003 13:48 - 146 of 1253

well i dont really know what to say about todays results. some good , some bad things. but i do like chairmen who look long term instead of short term gain .

eibbor - 18 Dec 2003 15:37 - 147 of 1253

Yes not too bad (for an optimist :-) ) I was actually suprised to hear them mention national ID cards. I thought that was mostly in the minds of investors but there it is in black and white...

"Continued investment in sales and product development will improve the
contracted customer base. The company is well positioned to supply Chip and Pin
cards to the UK and international banks and has already received firm
indications of commitment.

Similarly, major marketing activity around Origin-J, the full Java smart-card
solution, has led to significant interest from end users, competitors and
governments. We see the technology being adopted initially in the GSM, banking
and National Identity Card smart-card application areas. Origin-J remains the
only full Java J2SE VM technology available for smart cards globally. As a
result of our continued confidence in this technology, we have undertaken to
increase our investment in 180 Software in the expectation of licence sales over
the coming years."
