Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It's cold.

stockbunny - 02 Sep 2004 11:32 - 12819 of 23498

Lunchtime....
Still relatively quiet in here this week, many still away on hols no doubt.

jj50 - 02 Sep 2004 11:46 - 12820 of 23498

Hi bunny. A hot chocolate please. Couldn't agree more about the cost of return to school - although you were probably spared the new kilt!!!!!

DD, wait till they are 17, it is not tears of sadness when they head out the door to school!! Time does fly though so savour it.

stockbunny - 02 Sep 2004 11:52 - 12821 of 23498

Ah here's one you will appreciate JJ I know...
Number two son due to leave this morning at 10.30 for an 11am start...
It is 10.20 when he says Mum can you sew this up? and presents me with
a beautiful rip, all frayed the lot, in the sleeve of his blazer...
How long has that been there? Says I grabbing the sewing box.
Can't remember when I did it...err...before the holiday..
Priceless.....But we still love 'em - mad isn't it LOL

jj50 - 02 Sep 2004 12:11 - 12822 of 23498

Sounds familiar bunny.....:-) Did "critical surgery" on blazer pocket myself at end of last term! Nice to be needed...?

Going to grab something to eat then switch on Working Lunch. It is reporting from the now famous (but not yet famous enough) Manston airport, so all PTG followers listen out.

Bunny, thanks for asking, it was a good break (too windy for the midges) but won't be racing back!!! Taking daughter's boyfriend along might have been a trifle ambitious!

daves dazzlers - 02 Sep 2004 13:21 - 12823 of 23498

jj,you can take them off are hands if you wish, they fight like a couple of boxers.
in 1 corner you have ballet dancer, with a 15 month advantage

and in the other corner you have the rugby playing brute.there only 6 and 5 years of age.

jj50 - 02 Sep 2004 13:24 - 12824 of 23498

DD, they sound so cute and the right way round - older daughter definitely the way to go! I still have knee problems from being available for rugby tackle practice so be warned!

stockbunny - 02 Sep 2004 13:27 - 12825 of 23498

LOL Dave - ah you have a long way to go refereeing yet! Enjoy it cos
in no time it will be nothing but hormones, more expense and worrying
about their latest boyfriend or girlfriend ;>)
But in the meantime my money is on the ballet dancer, no matter how big
the boys are, the girls always manage to hit them below the belt!

daves dazzlers - 02 Sep 2004 13:38 - 12826 of 23498

the thing is this dancer dont fight just screem, we have to hold the rugby player back while she gets her hit in. but he`s lost without her. h is a real tomboy at times, she is happy ,,rock climbing fishing, football, and larking about in her wetsuit ,where as mr e is not to keen in the water,or climbing, but likes the rest.kids,,,,,,,,,dont you just love um,,,,,,,,,,i can`t eat a whole one all the same.

jj50 - 02 Sep 2004 13:38 - 12827 of 23498

Yup, daughter will will on size basis till 15, then brain power thereafter!!!!

Manston airport didn't appear to have any travellers only staff which was a bit concerning - apparently it had been busy yesterday? Looked very swish though.

stockbunny - 02 Sep 2004 14:15 - 12828 of 23498

Saw the report on working lunch also JJ - although I don't hold any shares
but I know there's been a lively thread on here about planestation. Still
being one who - on the rare occasion I manage to go anywhere may I add!
goes from LHR - I can say I'm impressed, it looked clean for a start and
lacking the usual over-crowded chaos!
