The men in black are pumping again - 18.5 billion and the Trin is falling.

well done javidshaik.

javidshaik - 30 Jan 2004 13:05 - 1292 of 2279

end of the month so wonder what will happen today?
GDP due out shortly so that should set the theme for the day. however, if that goes ok or better than axpected, i think we will see some upward trends but i will hold off opening any positions till after the open.
any one want to give there opinions?

javid

snoball - 30 Jan 2004 13:39 - 1293 of 2279

My opinion: short term up to 10700.
Anybody's guess after that.
Tom Hoogard suggested yesterday that something would happen 9/10th February if you believe in Fibonacci Time projections. My projection shows 11th Feb using the daily chart.
On the other hand on a weekly chart March 25th is suggested as a turning point.

You pays yer money and takes yer choice.

i believe on feb 11th there is some news due out from the states (cant think what it is though). anyone know?

snoball - 30 Jan 2004 13:44 - 1295 of 2279

Zarif needs a calendar at the top of the thread.

snoball - im sure there was something else. good idea about calendar.
zarif - is there a way of placing a calendar for the coming month at the top of the thread?

snoball - 30 Jan 2004 13:50 - 1298 of 2279

Perhaps theres an eclipse or some planetary alignment.

javidshaik - 30 Jan 2004 13:54 - 1299 of 2279

lol. no nothing like that. i think maybe greenspan will be talking (nearly always to go short then he does). zarif might know when he comes on.
snoball - your a bit speedy with the replies today! no sooner have i sent a message have you replied.

little woman - 30 Jan 2004 14:18 - 1300 of 2279

DJ futures are currently trading about 40 down from close

javidshaik - 30 Jan 2004 14:33 - 1301 of 2279

little woman - gdp figues were lowere than expected. made a quick buck on the original drop on 53pts. not sure what to do now.

snoball - 30 Jan 2004 15:01 - 1302 of 2279

I'm still long........for now.

little woman - 30 Jan 2004 15:03 - 1303 of 2279

I'm long, but have bought more with each drop and sold on the rises, so managed to (just) keep ahead so far.

snoball - 30 Jan 2004 15:11 - 1304 of 2279

nice going lw.

little woman - 30 Jan 2004 15:16 - 1305 of 2279

It only works if it continues sideways, within a good price range.

Thought this was interesting:

1512 GMT (Dow Jones) LONDON--FTSE 100 treads water at 4411.9. Trades in a tight range after Wall St opened on a slightly downbeat note. University of Michigan sentiment reading of 103.8, Chicago PMI reading of 65.9, both slightly better than hopes, help prevent FTSE from sliding further. "With minimal UK company reporting over the last few days, we inevitably been left to watch the political circus at Westminster, but with some solid corporate reporting due next week, there&aposs universal relief amongst traders that we can get back to working with substance, not spin," says trader."

javidshaik - 30 Jan 2004 15:31 - 1306 of 2279

i still havent opened up another position yet. not sure what to do mixed sentiment because of last trading day of jan, gdp figures below expected, possible profit taking so i would assume downwards today but its just too sideways. wondering if traders think markets have dropped enough already this week.
will watch for a while i think

little woman - 30 Jan 2004 15:36 - 1307 of 2279

My big worry is that every time it tests 10450 it's carry on down! Although so far I've well enough that it'll have to drop a long way before it wipes out the profits so far.

javidshaik - 30 Jan 2004 17:27 - 1308 of 2279

very slow boring day on the dow. feels more like the ftse.
i got an up and down open and see if i can walk away with a small profit today. if not, i am sure come monday something will happen.

have a good weekend guys.

javid

snoball - 30 Jan 2004 17:29 - 1309 of 2279

you too, javid.

snoball - 30 Jan 2004 17:30 - 1310 of 2279
