Blinger

Do you mind not constantly repeating the "ROT....." etc on almost every post you make.

Its a touch tedious just to look at it and I think by now most of us who read this board will automatically assume that you will end your post with it. We will pretend that you're using invisible ink.

Thanks

I have not seen any reference to Lendell Mfg Inc before but here they are developing Starpol:-

"StarpolTM
This is our current biodegradable polymer under development. For customers who may need faster degradation qualities of polymer."

http://www.lendell.com/Products/Chemical

Anyone know more of this?

chocbic - 25 Nov 2005 11:07 - 12987 of 27111

So tony, are you suggesting that SEO have given Lendell the IP rights to create the stuff OR suggesting that SEO have competition and naming problems(Starpol)??

bhunt1910 - 25 Nov 2005 11:10 - 12988 of 27111

As it is TM'd - I guess it is in partnership with SEO !!!!

Tonyrelaxes - 25 Nov 2005 11:12 - 12989 of 27111

Not suggesting anything - just asking if anyone knows more.
It would be interesting to know what the relationships are.

Phart

Possibly - but they do elsewhere refer to themselves being manufacturers.

Also they are attending various Fruit, Veg and Agricultural Products Trade Shows. (Starpol already has full FDA approval for fruit and veg) That suggests to me they are there for the purpose of promoting/selling products or processes to users. The service of developing chemical products is not of prime interest to farmers!

Either way it demonstrates SEO are not sitting around with their thumbs up their bums.

oblomov - 25 Nov 2005 15:22 - 12992 of 27111

I see the same posts here relating to Lendell as on FYB so I'll copy my FYB post here as it may be of interest.

--

I did point this out some months ago when everyone accused me of bashing (when I posted the Patent and Trade Marks info).

Here it is again - some definate conflict for 'STARPOL' in the States - possible problems in the UK if Lendell have been using the mark prior to Stanelco, even though Stanelco have obtained a registration.

Interesting in that Lendell filed this mark in the States in 1999.

The product similarity is too similar for Stanelco's adoption of the name to be a coindidence, surely?

Makes me wonder what Lendell's Patent rights are - I'll take a look when I've got a moment!

shamona - 25 Nov 2005 17:16 - 12993 of 27111

Am I picking this up correctly, Starpol is not a Stanelco product but is infact licensed from Lendell?

The two different products are so similar they must be the same, we need answers?

http://www.lendell.com/Products/Chemical

shamona - 25 Nov 2005 17:19 - 12994 of 27111

The more I look the more it looks like Stanelco have stolen this idea and applied it to the EU market where it is not patent protected, this will mean it can not be used in the US.

Patent stealing seems to be becoming a theme if this is correct.

hewittalan6 - 25 Nov 2005 17:25 - 12995 of 27111

Just a thought, but if Lendall have had this product, and it is the same as Stanelcos since 1999, then why would it have gone for FDA approval?
Unless it is the novel application of the product that Stanelco are patenting / getting approved.
Answered my own question, really.
Ignore me. I'm going back to sleep.

Red Erik - 25 Nov 2005 17:42 - 12997 of 27111

Lendall = INEDIBLE STARCH

Stanelco = EDIBLE STARCH

There are loads of things called Starpol it is simply an adjunction of Starch and Polymer and is used by many starch polymer projects and products a simple google search for starpol brings up loads of them

There's not much point in going over and over each instance of Starpol in the world or we will be here for decades

See you all on Monday when the fun will hopefully begin
