If it's all the same, I'd really rather not look at anyone's equipment. Jeffie had said before he went on hols that he was taking his tackle and I was just wondering if he'd got his rod out whilst he was away.

:o)

Amber,

I'd guess that the recent price action has been more to do with the trades than leaked news. Why don't you ring Adonis anyway though? He won't bite ..... I promise. Ask him about Alto Cuilo and the jv. Tell him you're a large holder (tell him that you hold in a nominee a/c) and that you've been disappointed with the recent price action and would like to know about forthcoming newsflow. They are due to report on drilling and bulk sampling soon for Alto C from the last rns ..... ask him when that will be.

STORMCALLER - 06 Sep 2004 11:57 - 12981 of 23498

stockbunny,
Thank you for those kind thoughts, it is such a rare privilege for me to find you here, beginning to think you were avoiding me.....lol

stockbunny - 06 Sep 2004 12:18 - 12982 of 23498

Of course I'm not avoiding you Stormy, but I am tucked up in
bed at the hour you normally turn up at the tea-rooms - so it is nice to
see you in here at a more civilized time of day from the bunny's point
of view.

Hilary - LOL

snoball - 06 Sep 2004 12:52 - 12983 of 23498

Time fer lunch.

stockbunny - 06 Sep 2004 13:09 - 12984 of 23498

Hello Snowie - so what you do want fer lunch? LOL

amberjane - 06 Sep 2004 14:06 - 12985 of 23498

Thanks Hilary, have got his number but boards always quite on this one. Think I may tuck a few more away!

I thought today was gunna be a rare trading day for me as I had a nice cash injection into my pot today. BUT now I have the cash I have sat here for 5 hours and all the ones I picked last week somehow just dont seem.......Oh well.

hilary - 06 Sep 2004 14:20 - 12986 of 23498

Amber,

Thinking about it, you might also like to try speaking to John Anthony at KBR and Brian Moritz at GT.

I'm not really sure whether JA is still in the loop now that they've got their new PR firm (Parkgreen or someone sounding similar?) in, but he's probably worth a try nonetheless. Basically, there were a few problems when Trisk was at the helm and he upset a few people in the City because of his abrasive nature. JA was one of those who had his nose put out of joint by Trisk.

hilary - 06 Sep 2004 14:32 - 12987 of 23498

Amber,

Not sure how much you know, but here is a little bit of background reading.

amberjane - 06 Sep 2004 14:35 - 12988 of 23498

Hilary, tried to buy through Hod Bren on line and cant? Bought into these quite some time ago when with someone else so will have to go back to them but costs are double! Can u give me tel nos. if u have, perhaps send me email may be easier, thanks

hilary - 06 Sep 2004 14:45 - 12989 of 23498

Amber,

Personally I wouldn't touch Headless Brendon with a bargepole. My best advice would be to close your a/c with them and get yourself a decent broker who can go to the market and get you price and size. Nonetheless, it doesn't surprise me that the mm's have shut off on-line dealing today.

If you follow the link in post 12986 through to Petra's own website, you'll find phone no's for both KBR and GT.

amberjane - 06 Sep 2004 14:55 - 12990 of 23498

Thanks Hilary, and who do you recommend as 'a decent broker' then? sorry your other post hadnt come up while I was replying, cheers.

stockbunny - 06 Sep 2004 15:19 - 12991 of 23498

I've got to free up my phone line, that's the only problem with being
on dial up! Take care everyone and be lucky for the rest of the day!

amberjane - 06 Sep 2004 15:38 - 12992 of 23498

Couldnt wait to change brokers so done the deed, not happy with price they gave me or commission rates but had already missed a good rise this am! Been mucking around on different sites this morning but when I eventually went back to portfolio my original holding has ticked up well sweet..now time to go and have breakfast??? Phew! Day trade? Not sure it will suit me - taken me 6 hours to do this one, still said the money wouldnt stay in my account long...0% interest for 7 hours, does anyone do an hourly interest account? :>)

Hilary, thanks for info today, should have taken action when I saw tick up this am but hey ho. Still could do with broker info if you dont mind for later date, cheers. nice rest in the garden needed now while tiny bit of sun left, another day of no housework, oh well.

jeffmack - 06 Sep 2004 16:47 - 12993 of 23498

Hi Hil
Had my rod out a couple of times but only for a short while as I was afraid of sunburn. Just got 6 tickets for Chelsea V Spurs on 19th, West End upper near the corner. Taking some yanks who support Spurs for some reason.

daves dazzlers - 06 Sep 2004 17:07 - 12994 of 23498

maccer, what type of line fishing do you do.

Socrates - 06 Sep 2004 17:10 - 12995 of 23498

Hello Jeffmack, you old banker you. Good to have you back, despite what they say. Pity they don't do Cyprus from Manston yet, you could have had the benefit of a nice cheap flight.

Good evening all, time to dole out the sherry trifle, I'm famished.

Talking about brokers, I've just had a divi from BT and part of their Shareholder Plus benefits is trading shares through Halifax for 1.50 a shot. Don't know any details but if anyone holds BT shares and is interested, have a look at:http://www.bt.com/shareholderplus

amberjane - 06 Sep 2004 17:35 - 12996 of 23498

Hi Jeffers, good holiday then?

Has everyone else drowned in the trifle, know its always got socs in it!

I know it wont be just me but what a wonderful day, hold 19 stocks now and portfolio all blue with some green, NO red!!!

hilary - 06 Sep 2004 17:39 - 12997 of 23498

Amber,

I've got broker accounts galore ...... you can never have too many, imo, as you never know when you might need them. Online certificated, online nominee, private client, cfd and spreadbet plus a couple of specialist fx. I'm loathe to recommend any of them though as what might suit me, won't necessarily suit others. I think you've just got to play about and see for yourself the various pros and cons of each of them.

There are a few that I wouldn't touch with a bargepole. For anything illiquid/aim/ofex, imo, you need a private client broker. There are plenty about. Just pick up the Yellow Pages for your area, ring them up, go and see them and ask them what they can do for you.

Jeffie,

West Upper, eh? Should be ok, but tell them not to wear any colours and not to cheer if Spurs score. And when the Chelsea fans sing ... "The famous Tottenham Hotspur went to Rome to see the Pope .....", or, "We'll be going round Tottenham with our wil***es hanging out", it'll probably be useful if you're in a position to explain the significance of the lyrics to your friends.

:o)

STORMCALLER - 06 Sep 2004 17:49 - 12998 of 23498

Amber,
Don't you know it's rude to gloat....lol
Seriously, sounds like an excellent day, well done!, might be round for some hints later.

amberjane - 06 Sep 2004 18:00 - 12999 of 23498

Could be a quiet meeting from what I hear SC? Didnt mean to gloat......only it was a first, my only regret was not buying pre as well, mucked around for so long I ran out of time.

Hils, quite! as I found out today having to go back to my old broker. Understand with recommendations so OK, only asked as it sounded like you had a favourite.
