Shares has highlighted the clumsy arrangements.......crushing a large diamond and finding others that were more-valuable than originally thought....Oh deary.
However this pales into insignificance compared with the June Placing of 40m shares of 5p - what is NOT clear from the RNS is what price they achieved for these 5p shares - was it 5p ( and they are not saying), or was it 10p mentioned earlier......the difference is a huge amount and I think shareholders would like to know why they are not saying.
(please also come clean as to the costs, for this shabby funding. Er, by all accounts).
Kopane isn't looking much better that the European Diamonds it started out as - a pretty stupid name, considering most diamonds are found outside Europe...eh?
As always DYOR......all IMHO.
Kopane sounds like some form of glass - - - - where do they find their Advisors?

Kopane Diamonds is understood to be closing on a deal to fund development of it's main asset Lesotho. The group is thought to be seeking as much as $70 million from the investor in return for up to a 50% stake.
Kopane recently raised the estimated value of diamonds at the site by 19% to $2.6 BILLION but the value could be higher after discovering exceptionally large gems in a small drilling sample. The group's estimate is based on a selling price of only $86 a carat, compared with the $20.000 recently achieved by Gem Diamonds its local rival.
Kopane also wants to reopen production at it's smaller satellite site.

from another bb / article from sharemagg:
'The diamond industry is already small yet we expect more juniors to pool their resources as diamond mining is extremely high-risk. The success rate of finding diamonds and creating a profitable mine is slim compared to precious or base metel projects. Therefore junor companies need to pool cash resources and spread there risks across multiple target areas until there is confidence in at least one or two assets' diamond content. Expect to see close ties froged between namakwa and Kopane KDD. There respective kao and liqhobong deposits are less than 10 kilometers apart in lesotho and both require a power feed. Kopane agreed last august it would pay interest on a loan by standard bank to lesotho electricity company for the latter to build a power line to liqhobong. Namakwa will also need a power line to kao so it makes sense for the two companies to share the loan interest payments. Namawka cheif executive nico kruger tells shares this would be a logical move, adding he want to speak to kopane. It makes sense to put are heads and wallets together,' he says. Kopane raised 5.7 milion last month 13 jan to help restart production at liqhobong. It had produced diamonds from satellite pipe until december 2008 when the market collapse forced suspension of the mine. The real asset of interest to investors is the main pipe which is believed to contain bonanza stones and which has a 31.1 million carat resourse. The market has been aware of liqhobongs potential for several years yet a lack of money has held back development. A change of managment last year raised market expectations financing and infrastructure problems would be resolved. Kopane said last month 26 jan it had entered into a proposed deal with an established miner to co-develop liqhobong with the as-yet-unamed partner paying $64 milion for 51% of kopanes three quarter interest in the mine. i get the impression the company are frustrated that the chance to get on with things is a slower than they would have wished pace wise.....however doing the right thing by way of hooking up with the right partner is best all round... i can wait to see what happens when the T's get crossed and I's get dotted....and the power issue is overcome.....and see where we are then.......another factor of course is the price of diamonds......and knowing they have a good collection to mine is a warming perception.....
