BUGS - Report them here (BUGS)

zzaxx99 - 24 Jan 2003 09:02

The "number unread" column doesn't work. When you come back to the site (and log-in again) the number unread is being reset to the number of messages in the thread.

Also, though I can't put my finger on what the exact circumstances are, I'm havoing to log-in over and over again, which is really getting on my wick.

little woman,

Do you have cookies enabled in your browser? The behaviour you are saying points to them being disabled or not accepted by your browser...

where can I find a list of your products. What access will I have for the 5 premium monthly?

little woman - 24 Jan 2003 12:06 - 15 of 170

Thanks, I checked the settings and found them changed from the settings I did when I first got this PC! XP is really a pain, as it is constantly resetting my original settings!!!!!

Diogenes - 24 Jan 2003 12:12 - 16 of 170

Last message I got was that all the stocks on my watchlist were inappropriate to my subscription level and it wiped them all out.

Just tried again: watchlist blank, but it seems to allow me to add new stocks now, so I could start again. However, I can't spend all day entering and re-entering my watchlist.

I don't have a subscription: only heard of this site a few days ago, and I'm trying the free service before I even think of cancelling ADVFN and paying here.

I think you need to make it very clear on the home page exactly what is being offered in the free service and in the different subscription levels. It really is not at all clear to me. What does limited* mean, for example? There's an asterisk, but no footnote. I took it to mean 'contended', as on ADVFN (you can get bumped off if too many people are on at once). But perhaps it means the watchlist can only contain a limited number of stocks, or stocks from some limited list. Whatever it means, I think we should be told, because not many people are going to waste time setting up watchlists or portfolios repeatedly only to see them wiped out without warning.

little woman - 24 Jan 2003 12:16 - 17 of 170

I had no problems setting up a portfolio - but I did start with a cash balance when when I created it. I don't know if that made a difference.

zzaxx99 - 24 Jan 2003 12:27 - 18 of 170

Watchlist froze with no updates - started again with Crtl-F5.

Environment is NT4 SP6a, IE 6 SP1, behind corporate firewall

lurker - 24 Jan 2003 12:32 - 19 of 170

Diogenes - the losing of watchlist data should not happen. As Mighty Micro's post says, AM had some operational problems earlier which are now fixed. It is likely that this was behind your problems. No other similar experiences had been reported during AM's extensive beta testing. ie it should all be OK now.

Hmm, must either stop posting or change my username!

Bullshare - 24 Jan 2003 12:36 - 20 of 170

Diogenes : The 0limited description is there but under the fold so might have been missed.

*limited format is a contended system. Operating on a 'first in first off' basis. To enable us to provide a free live price service we will set a limit to the number of users who can log on at any one time. Once the limit has been reached the first person logged on will be the first to be logged off by our servers.

About the portfolio system (which I wrote...) It doesn't currently use the
cash position in any of the tabled calculations - we're planning to add
'cashflow' pages later which make more extensive use of it.
This is all explained in the Portfolio section in the FAQ, but do
email support if this doesn't make it clear,
Best wishes

Lurker: well, my watchlist is blank, apart from two stocks that I have reentered, and if no one knows why it went blank it's going to happen again. So good luck to you all, but I'm not going to waste any more time reentering it or my portfolio.

Bullshare: thanks, I missed the footnote. Limited clearly does mean exactly what I thought it meant, so that is not the reason my watchlist went blank. I'll just have to give you a bit more time to sort out the bugs. :-\

From the FAQ section
---
Q: Why do you have so many different levels of subscription on offer?
A: This is to enable our subscribers to choose the level that is most applicable to their needs. The different levels of subscription are as follows
----
(they seem to be written in invisible ink)

hightone - 25 Jan 2003 11:54 - 25 of 170

dont know if this is by design or not but when dsoing a BB search the saystem only returns hits for the room that you are currently in and not the one next door.

kajman - 27 Jan 2003 10:45 - 27 of 170

At the top of the thread list in the Investors room is a button to "MAC/PC Clinic".

However it just asks me to log in again. My guess is that it is pointing to the thread in the Traders Room, which isn't accessable on the free service.

(That maybe by design but it is not explained)

kajman - 27 Jan 2003 10:51 - 28 of 170

This maybe a browser problem here - but when I switch from a streaming page (eg Stockwatch) to another page (eg Bulletin Board) I get a big white box where the streaming used to be. This box is always there - I have to close the browser down, and fire it up again.

I'm using IE5.5
Any ideas?

alecm - 27 Jan 2003 16:47 - 29 of 170

Hi there, when i try to go into some threads, i get sent to the registration thread, this thread does it to me....

http://www.moneyam.com/TradersRoom/ShowPostList?fID=1&tID=598

Am i doing something wrong..?? or do i need to register for a different subscription to get there..???

Rgds Alec....

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 27 Jan 2003 17:17 - 30 of 170

alecm,

If you are a free user, you can only view and post in the Investors' Room. You need to become a paid subscriber to view posts in the Traders' Room.

Hope this helps,

J.

tullettj - In the FAQ it describes the different options (or should do).
"Q: Why do you have so many different levels of subscription on offer?
A: This is to enable our subscribers to choose the level that is most applicable to their needs. The different levels of subscription are as follows"

Could you finish off the description of the 3 options?
Thanks
