Hello all.
We have been developing a new charting section, and this is now ready for a bit of beta testing :-)
To access this beta version please click on the image below.
Any feedback would be gratefully received.
James.

James, once you click on Custom or Basic you can't get back to Intraday.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all of your feedback so far.
It seems that we still have quite a few things to add to the charts to give them all the functionality you would like. We really want these charts to be the best that we can provide, so I am keen to hear about any more bugs you find or features that you would like. We also have a few enhancements of our own in store too :-)
Meanwhile, I have tried to answer most of the questions that have come up so far.
Cheers, James.
> Ticking VOLMA on UKX 6 month basic chart produces volumes that stop at Xmas. Adding Volume as a lower window on custom charts instead gets it right.
We don't have volume figures for ukx beyond 20/12/04 in the database. We are now investigating this. Not sure why it appeared correctly for you on custom charts, as I cannot recreate this.
> Label at the top seems to go to Intraday charts but no intraday charts in evidence.
Sorry if that was misleading - intraday charts aren't available yet, but will be soon.
> In Custom Charts, are the boxes next to the indicators options meant for parameters? If so, they seem to be ignored for now.
They are intended for parameters, and should be working. However, I realise that it is not clear what values are suitable at the moment. I will prefill the boxes with suitable values soon.
> Where is the current day's data in the chart? It is why I still maintain a sub to another site.
We plan to add this soon.
> I'm probably being dozey but is there a facility for drawing lines on this new section?
Not at the moment, however this has raised an interesting point, and we are looking at ways that this might be achievable.
> There appears to be a problem with the overlays. Trying different combinations of these, I got errors such as:
> Undefined Formula "FML.BBISARAREABB"
> Undefined Formula "FML.BBISAR"
I cannot recreate this. could you give me a specific example?
> Hiya, I had a look at your charts and you do not seem to be able to get shorter term charts like 2 day or Intraday.
I will be adding shorter ranges to basic and custom charts. Intraday will be available soon.
> Are these charts going to be real time streaming charts??? I hope so cos' that's what we need.
We realise this is highly desirable and are looking into the best way to do this. For the time being, we will provide our existing streaming charts.
> multiples of charts on the screen too please. At the mo I have to go to your charts and swop between 5 different epics on the same chart and then keep clicking go to update. You must be able to improve on this :-) Haystack has clicked on the same thing as me.
Again, we can see that this is highly desirable, and is something that I will look at once we get the charts out of beta.

ptholden,
Select 'Custom chart' and open one of the drop down lists in 'Indicator Windows' and select 'Average Directional Index'.
Hope this helps.

Hi ptholden,
That's no problem - I'll put a DMI option in the next release under custom charts.
Cheers, James.

I suppose it would be chancing it to ask for Donchian channels, James?
The BBi looks interesting. What is the BBI?

Hi snoball,
Sorry for the slow reply :-)
I don't have Donchian Channels available to slot in at the moment, although I may be able to do something at a later date.
According to my documentation, BBI is a "Bullish-Bearish Indicator", or "a weighted sum of the other indicators that have a bullish trend."
Hope this helps.
Cheers, James.

Hi everyone,
We have made quite a few changes to the new charting section, and plan to go live in the next couple of days. For the time being, they can still be accessed by clicking the chart image at the top of this thread.
Thanks again for all of your feedback, we've incorporated your suggestions where possible, and plan to make further additions in the future.
Here are some of the changes we have made:
Intraday charts
Live Intraday charts (for Active users and above)
Custom charts now prefills boxes with example values
End of day charts (Basic and Custom) now have a "Plot Current Intraday Price" option
Basic and Custom charts now have more ranges and more sizes
Changing certain values automatically fetches a new chart
"Paste Chart to Bulletin Board" option
Security name on chart
Four "Compare To" boxes
Once again, any feedback about bugs or additional features you would like would be appreciated.
A few further things that I should mention:
1. "Old Java Streaming Charts" have been incorporated as it is not possible to draw trend lines on the new charts.
2. The "Paste Chart to Bulletin Board" URL is very long. I'm looking at ways to reduce this.
3. I changed the URL format slightly today, so any previous links to the new charts may be broken. Please let me know if this is a problem and I will explain what needs to be changed.
James.

James,
First of all- the new charts are a major improvement - keep up the good work!
But...............
Using custom charts, when I put the parameters 3-10-16 in for the MACD indicator, the 3 parameter is coming up as 20. Thought I'd let you know.

vincie,
Which of the 3 boxes are you entering the 3 parameter in, as I am unable to reproduce this

IAN,
I'm using the indicator graphs at the bottom of the custom charts, and putting the 3 parameter in the first box.

vincie,
Unfortuantely, 20 is the lowest etting for that parameter.
