Formjet (FMJ)

keith thomas - 22 May 2005 13:00

Does anyone have any views on this share. I t was a play of the week in Shares mag on Thursday. They are into software, like Panda anti virus etc and according to shares are adding 12000 new customers a month. They are making profits and plan a dividend in 2006. The current price is around 7.5p and looks an interesting play.

Any thoughts?

guru11 - 22 Jun 2005 22:31 - 13 of 46

Excellent firm trading day today, but finished with a 500k sell at 7.75p.
Looks like someone is stake building though.
The share price firmness should continue,
so tomorrow and the rest of the week should be an interesting time.

kkedw095 - 22 Jun 2005 22:59 - 14 of 46

I bought these from city equities and they have moved up a little bit, although i have been told to expect the price to head up to around 12p in the near term too. I'm not all that familiar with what they do, although I do understand that they are a vendor of other companys products, and from all accounts are very effective at it.

i also bought a few other shares from city equities over the past year, one has done really well and others are doing nothing and one has dropped about 20% or so.

i do like what I am hearing from fmj. Like guru says it has a very low pe which is a good sign.

Formjet main two products are Ability Office which competes with MS Office, although as I understand it if you have a company with 20 PC's the combined licence to use Ability Office makes it much cheaper to use than MS Office,
and secondly Panda Antivirus software, both are in the top 100 of the software charts. The brokers expect eps of 1.6p this year and 1.8p next year, although the market is waiting before re-rating the stock to see if this will actually be achieved.
Today was not quite as firm with the 350k sell going through.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit better.

guru11 and kkedw095,

Do you use Panda Antivirus software?

If not. Why?

kkedw095 - 24 Jun 2005 19:55 - 17 of 46

I have tried it on a free trial basis, and was relieved to see that although I signed up for it from the panda website, fmj are the vendors.

The only thing I found annoying about it is, the pop up panda. Apart from that seems to be fine.

How do you find it pet?

guru11 - 25 Jun 2005 17:44 - 18 of 46

Afraid I dont use Panda software. On my new computer I have Norton Internet Security which appears to be ok, and on my wife's computer I have Zone Alarm, although it does tend to come up with a lot of messages saying that it has blocked another entry to her computer. Some kind of security / antivirus / fire wall is a must nowadays.
FMJ was a bit weak on Friday, going from a bid price of 8.1p to 7.25p.
I hope that next week is better. It appears that FMJ will exceed an offer price of 8.5p then it falls back again. It is a struggle on the way up. The fundamentals are still there though, although software is a moving ball game, but then FMJ is lowly capitalised, but has to keep up the momentus. If Ability Office succeeds then the capitalisation will look too small at current levels.

petob - 27 Jun 2005 12:14 - 19 of 46

kked,

I agree with you about the pop up panda.

I found that I had to reinstall the program every week as the automatic update would not function and downloading manually from pandasoftware.es was very slow.

Apart from those two problems, and the fact that their representatives here could not resolve the problem and a bug got in, it seems very good but I feel safer with Norton.

guru11 - 29 Jun 2005 09:26 - 20 of 46

It is very red again at present?
The nms are surprisingly 25k buy 100k sell.

Subsequently now changed to 10k sell.

petob - 29 Jun 2005 11:17 - 21 of 46

Placing 6,000,000 shares at 6.75p

guru11 - 29 Jun 2005 22:10 - 22 of 46

Thats still only another 420k so nothing to really worry about.

jrlearmonth - 29 Jun 2005 22:19 - 23 of 46

Compared to the other Anti-Virus / Firewall software out there... unless Panda beef's up marketing they are only going to snap up the oldies who don't know too much and think the Panda is 'cute' . Performance and security wise their software is inferior to other leaders in this field.

guru11 - 30 Jun 2005 09:51 - 24 of 46

I did use Zone Alarm on one computer at home, and when I bougth another computer which I now have Norton Internet Security, I nearly cancelled my order for N.I.S. to have Zone Alarm on, but I am now glad that I did not, as N.I.S. appears to be the business. In the past after having problems with viruses and unauthorise access to my computer some kind of computer security in todays world is essential. Do you want to pay 25 subscription per year or whatever to get your hard disk fixed and the lost of your computer over that period while it is being fixed. I am not an expert on Panda Security so I cant comment. But as I understand with Formjet they are aiming at a market for people with less money to spend on software for Panda and especially Ability Office, and especially with the latter they may succeed in winning a lot of orders, especially when one considers MS prices.

moneyman - 18 Sep 2005 23:06 - 25 of 46

Could be time to look at this one again.

Oakapples142 - 19 Sep 2005 09:31 - 26 of 46

I am still holding onto this "lame duck" what are your thoughts then Moneyman ?

Oakapples142 - 19 Sep 2005 14:03 - 27 of 46

Whatever your thoughts are/were - keep it up 18% up will do nicely.
Make that 30% at 3.45pm

guru11 - 21 Sep 2005 12:13 - 28 of 46

Directors were forecasting - wrongly now as it would appear - earnings per share of 1.6p, so does anyone know what the revised - realistic forecast - is that we can now expect?

After being 7.5p and down to 2p only last week we have seen a 50% rise, but where from here - up or down, can the current share price be substantiated, or is it cheap?

Oakapples142 - 21 Sep 2005 12:37 - 29 of 46

guru - are you saying the revised EPS is 1.6p. If so where did you find that and it would appear to be 4 times better than previously forecast. Do you also agree a PE of 7.8 and NAV at 1.50p ? Should these figures be confirmed then yes it does look cheap still. I recently bought more to give me an average at 5.7p and that looks on the cards given the past two days of trading - good luck

moneyman - 24 Feb 2006 09:48 - 30 of 46

1.85M trade gone through. Is this what dropped it ?

moneyman - 24 Feb 2006 20:52 - 31 of 46

Now thats an interesting RNS. Good to see a trust fund finding value in FMJ at this level. I expect they think the house has been cleaned and it can only get better from here.

moneyman - 26 Feb 2006 22:29 - 32 of 46

Software group Formjet led gains among the smaller companies, adding more than 35% in value with a 0.62p pence gain to 2.37p after news Weighbridge Trust has purchased 5.25m shares in the group, representing just over 6% of the issued share capital.
