Vasey, what a delight, you are back on your form again. I kept a Magnum on ice just for this occasion. Hold your glass whilst I fill you up.

Yes, they never hit my stop loss, by a whisker I must say, so let's hope the rise is not momentary but the start of a trend.
jeffmack
I've no idea. They just seem to become active over the last few days. Probably the MMs being their usual selves but maybe there is something the city boys know that we don't.

Hi Socs,
Well it's certainly scaring me! Much more of it and I'll have to change my handle to something a bit bovine!
Off now to bury my head in the sand for a few days and hope it'll go away ...... have a nice holiday.

I don't understand, why should your head go away because you bury it in the sand?
I'm glad there is a temporary respite from the bear market. It has caused an awful lot of distress and hardship to many who now have no pensions worth a candle and destroyed some quite respectable companies through no fault of their own. Some needed knocking down I've no doubt. But now there are very few companies sticking to final salary pensions guess where the money released will go. Does the term "fat cats" mean anything I wonder?

The Bull Auction
A couple go to an agricultural show way out in the countryside a fine Sunday afternoon, and are watching the auctioning off of reproduction bulls. The guy selling the bulls announces the first bull to be auctioned off:
"A fine specimen, this bull reproduced 60 times last year." The wife nudges her husband in the ribs, and comments: "See! That was more than 5 times a month!"
The second bull is to be sold: "Another fine specimen, this wonder reproduced 120 times last year." Again the wife bugs her husband: "Hey, that's some 10 times a month! What do YOU say to that?!"
Her husband is getting really annoyed with this comparison.
The third bull is up for sale: "And this extraordinary specimen reproduced 360 times last year!"
The wife slaps her husband on the arm and yells: "That's once a day, every day of the year! How about YOU?!"
The husband was pretty irritated by now, and yells back: "Sure, once a day! But ask the announcer if they were all with the same cow!"
