Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Me being the realist that i am accepted that UKIP would'nt win a majority and so not form the next government.....

Jeremy Corbyn’s decision to support staying in the EU is the longest suicide note in history and poses a deadly threat to the existence of the party, Frank Field, a former minister and leading out campaigner has claimed.

The Labour MP said 40% of the party’s supporters wanted Britain to leave the EU, but added that their views were being ignored in favour of a pro-EU policy that was designed to please a “London metropolitan elite”.

“The last thing Jeremy needs to do is to undermine further the traditional Labour vote, much of which wishes to leave the European Union,” he said.

“For the party leader more actively to campaign for the Remain campaign will push even more Labour voters into the arms of Ukip.”

A string of opinion polls today showed voters are ignoring the hard hitting intervention of Barack Obama and support for Brexit has gone up.

In the latest poll, by ICM, the campaign to leave the EU was ahead 46 per cent to 44 per cent - with the poll showing a two point rise for Out.

A survey by ORB showed the In campaign was in front by five points but that the gap had closed markedly since last week.

Meanwhile, data produced by Sky News suggested 57 per cent of the public would not be influenced by the President's claims.

Mr Obama enraged Vote Leave supporters on Friday by claiming Britain would be sent to the 'back of the queue' for trade deals if it quit jthe EU.

The new polls came as Sir Lynton Crosby today warned the campaign to keep Britain in the EU risks becoming complacent about the referendum despite there still being a 'marathon' to polling day.

Frank Field has been a thorn in the backside of the labour party for 35+ years.

The con party tried numerous times to get him to join "their" party on numerous occasions and some were suspicious of his relationship with "Maggie".

Initially, he was a "member" of the Con party, before joining the labour party, but was more inclined to be an independent thinking member and has frequently disagreed with those around him.

Independent thinker, often out of step with his own party and failed to get the support he thought due to him.

He is another one of "Yesterday's people" out of touch and suitable fodder for the "Brexiters" cohort.

Check rising membership levels of Labour party and age groupings of that membership against falling number of the torrid party and U-kipper party.

The referendum was an attempt by Cameron to placate the looney right of the tory, some of which were migrating to the BNP and UKIP. A short term policy which Cameron couldn't u-turn out of.

But little englanders are entitled to continue hold to their dreams.

But, it seems more informed opinion are suggesting it is a foolish dream.

On the subject of champagne socialists, why does the Beast of Bolsover, Dennis Skinner, think he has the right to an hereditary seat in the house of commons?

Those who use this term in a pejorative fashion clearly don't understand its origin or meaning. (But then the EU aficionados are not renowned for their understanding of history, their sense of culture or their intelligence.) The fact is that the term Little Englander dates from the Boer War and refers to people who were, at the time, opposed to the English Empire and who were anti-Imperialist. The Little Englanders wanted the English to stop taking over the world. Such folk were, at the time, regarded as unpatriotic.

Today, ignorant pro-EU fascists use the term as one of abuse. And so it seems safe to assume that all those who are not Little Englanders must, by definition, be determined that England should take over the world, colonising distant parts of the world, painting maps pink and generally proving themselves to be latter day racists.

Perhaps, I would have him as an MP than quite a few others.

Skinner only goes to the HP to save him money on keeping warm at home and the subsidised canteen which he uses to get his sarnies and yes! cheap beer.....

I believe the food and bars of the HP are subsidised.

Also, many of the con party look upon the MPs expense and pay as pocket money and spend a high proportion of their time at other jobs.

Have a look at Boris's declared income for 3 or more jobs when he seems incapable of doing one.
