Afternoon all, been an interesting day for the market.

Made the mistake of agreeing to go on a residential course for two weeks on Sunday evening, so will not be anywhere near the web for the duration (unless I can sneak home!!!) But will that make me a sad person????

I need a strong drink, but its a bit early....... Just have to make do with some coffee..............

So the helps gone again! Still no sign of GD..........

Socrates - 09 May 2003 19:43 - 1323 of 23498

Hello fellow inmates.

Hi Socs,

Well it's certainly scaring me! Much more of it and I'll have to change my handle to something a bit bovine!

Off now to bury my head in the sand for a few days and hope it'll go away ...... have a nice holiday.

little willie - 09 May 2003 21:42 - 1326 of 23498

8ball...with you there, reminds me of the crack about the young bull in the field talking to the old bull!..lol

Ursidae....take your head out of the sand you ostrich, why not become a husky?

Have a great w/end everyone....lw

Socrates - 09 May 2003 21:59 - 1327 of 23498

Ursidae
I don't understand, why should your head go away because you bury it in the sand?

I'm glad there is a temporary respite from the bear market. It has caused an awful lot of distress and hardship to many who now have no pensions worth a candle and destroyed some quite respectable companies through no fault of their own. Some needed knocking down I've no doubt. But now there are very few companies sticking to final salary pensions guess where the money released will go. Does the term "fat cats" mean anything I wonder?

The Bull Auction

A couple go to an agricultural show way out in the countryside a fine Sunday afternoon, and are watching the auctioning off of reproduction bulls. The guy selling the bulls announces the first bull to be auctioned off:

"A fine specimen, this bull reproduced 60 times last year." The wife nudges her husband in the ribs, and comments: "See! That was more than 5 times a month!"

The second bull is to be sold: "Another fine specimen, this wonder reproduced 120 times last year." Again the wife bugs her husband: "Hey, that's some 10 times a month! What do YOU say to that?!"

Her husband is getting really annoyed with this comparison.

The third bull is up for sale: "And this extraordinary specimen reproduced 360 times last year!"

The wife slaps her husband on the arm and yells: "That's once a day, every day of the year! How about YOU?!"

The husband was pretty irritated by now, and yells back: "Sure, once a day! But ask the announcer if they were all with the same cow!"

hightone - 11 May 2003 09:38 - 1331 of 23498

Hi all I has just crossed my mind that the last time we heard from GD was about the same time it was reported that Saddam may have being hit by the preemtive stike at the start of the gulf war so just much of a mad dog is he.

HT.

Socrates - 12 May 2003 07:49 - 1332 of 23498

Now it's time for one of the important decisions which can be life changing events. The big question is, shall I have another cup of tea before I have my corn flakes? Decisions, decisions!

jeffmack - 12 May 2003 08:37 - 1333 of 23498
