Fred1new - 31 Oct 2004 17:08

Any punters living in Birmingham Area interested in a Pie, Pint and jaw, one evening in a pub in Birmingham area.
Personally interested in small time investing(gambling), developing an appetite for CFDs. Also developing an interest in Charting or TA.

I use Sharescope, Moneyam, Barclays, Comdirect and IC

Fred1new - 11 Aug 2010 10:17 - 1338 of 1427

Tried this one the other day http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/90/9012/Victoria/Birmingham

Fairly quite on a Monday, although not totally.

Fred .... hope you enjoyed your break..... If you go to The Victoria then make sure Stan directs you to the 'good' toilets there ..... otherwise wear wellington boots ....
I'm out of circulation in Brum until early Sept (due to hols).

PS: This place is quite good for a Friday afternoon session:

Survive.

Survived.

My grandchildren have more energy than I do.

Have photos of them walking through a hot air balloon.

France is a fascinating country.

Thinking of returning in mid Sept. for a few months holiday.

Stan, how about a meeting in second week of Sept.

Prefer a different Pub.

How about the MAC, which has re-opened.

Will be in touch.

Stan - 12 Aug 2010 15:06 - 1343 of 1427

Fred,

Would be nice to see what sort of a job they have done with the place but notice that they are no longer serving real ale but only draught beer at silly prices!

See what the others say, here is the link http://www.macarts.co.uk/page/3560/Food+Drink then click on quenchers.

The Arena Bar
The intimate Arena Bar provides a range of drinks and snacks including the return of real ale at mac Whether you want to relax after a film or grab a drink during the interval this is the place to do it

Anyone fancy Friday 3rd September (or is that too soon) luchtime'ish or after onwards

Stan - 13 Aug 2010 07:54 - 1345 of 1427

Lunchtime Sept.3rd is fine by me, but will have to take it easy as it's the Codsall Beer Festival starting at 5pm that evening!

That real ale boast by the mac needs challenging by the advertising standards people in my view -):

Fred1new - 13 Aug 2010 09:43 - 1346 of 1427

OK, by me.

I will be in contact.

survived87 - 13 Aug 2010 13:04 - 1347 of 1427

According to the most recent post (3 months ago) on facebook regarding real ale at mac:
Just added cask conditioned ale from Wye Valley brewery some great tipples on offer..... draught to follow...................

Fred1new - 13 Aug 2010 15:57 - 1348 of 1427

Just bought by mistake a bottle of St Helier pear cider (Blackberry flavoured and coloured) and drank half of it.

No lying down it case it gets me.

If it useful can probably pick Stan and Surv. at the central station for the MAC.

survived87 - 13 Aug 2010 16:59 - 1349 of 1427

Fred.... thanks for the offer .... not sure what state New Street Station is in at present .... I should be able to make whatever time that Stan can make..... will e-mail you seperately.

Review of the other outlet at mac:
http://www.birminghammail.net/lifestyle/latest-features/2010/05/14/lite-bite-bridges-cafe-bar-mac-cannon-hill-park-birmingham-b12-9qh-tel-0121-446-3232-97319-26445769/

.... "Ive also twice found the new main alcohol bar closed at the other end of the building when I rather expected it to be open"....Plan B if bar is closed? (pub on diagonally opposite corner of Pershore Road junction there has closed down now .... although I think it's still open to offers if you fancy running a bar) .... and the other nearest bar, the BBC Club, opposite the Nature Centre has finally been demolished.

Stan - 14 Aug 2010 07:37 - 1350 of 1427

Thanks for the lift Fred,

I would prefer an earlier start, 12.30 'ish due to later engagements.

The link does not work Chris.

Fred1new - 14 Aug 2010 09:08 - 1351 of 1427

OK. by me.

Try cutting the address in half.

survived87 - 14 Aug 2010 20:07 - 1352 of 1427

I've updated the link .... works now ....

Stan - 15 Aug 2010 12:29 - 1353 of 1427

looks like a case of nice building design but woeful service, still be interesting to see what they have done with it.

Fred1new - 15 Aug 2010 13:04 - 1354 of 1427

How about 11am approx.

Stan - 15 Aug 2010 14:01 - 1355 of 1427

Yes, that's fine for me.

Stan - 23 Aug 2010 12:55 - 1356 of 1427

In an effort to reassure anyone who maybe considering coming to our little gathering and at great expense, I am pleased to be able to show you some edited highlights of one of our recent events.
