Stormcaller: What does that mean ...'to handicap the following for the race'? Surely Jeffmack can't be expected to take those two horses out for lunch before the race to make them too sozzled to run in a straight line. Is this the equivalent of 'shorting' a couple of nags, ie you are backing on them NOT to win?

Priscilla,
It is nothing more than a courtesy to the other punters that these horses might be worth avoiding.......I am not really a good picker, but I live in hope!

Oh! I thought it was a technical term...... (Shows how much I know!) I saw that some races are 'handicap' races and had no idea what it meant. I assumed the horses entered in those races had to wear crinolines or flippers on the way round. Couldn't see the point really, except for the fun of seeing them dressed up.
(Edit): Memo to brain......must get my roots dyed blonde.....

Priscilla,
I suspect your knowledge is at least the equal of mine, for example, I had never even thought of horses in flippers, so I naturally defer to your judgement

I'm back from the weekly trolley race, different one to the race that Stormy was in. This was more like bumper cars but I did emerge unscathed apart from a small dent in the wallet.
Priscilla
Go on, dye your hair blonde, then we can bring out all the blonde jokes. Here is a sample:
There were three women, a Brunette, a Red Head, and a Blonde. They all worked together at an office.
Every day they noticed that their boss left work a little early. So one day they met together and decided that today when the boss left, they would all leave early too.
The boss left and so did they. The Brunette went home and straight to bed so could get an early start the next morning. The Red Head went home to get in a quick work out before her dinner date. The Blonde went home and walked into the bedroom. She opens the door slowly and saw her husband in bed with her boss, so she shut the door and left.
The next day, the Brunette and the Red Head are talking about going home early again. They ask the Blonde if she wants to leave early again.
"No," she says, "yesterday I nearly got caught!"

It may be pie in the sky. Shung would be several years away, even if it came to pass at all. As for unlimited funds, I doubt it, but how long they last is dependent upon how much they make from the EUjet services. I'm waiting to see what their first months passenger figures are.
