Bema, the foamed starch is a good heat retainer, also there is at least one version of Starpol with good heat resistance, in other words it won't melt on contact with hot food like PLA would.

Look out for a much more informational Business Wire later or overnight, then see the US buying again.

Bugz

"You really do have to be an idiot to sell on the day SEO announce a RNS with Perseco."

Yeah, they give them selves a posher name though, Traders. Apparently they claim to be able to predict share price movements by a line on a page you know.

Bugz - 14 Dec 2005 12:40 - 13629 of 27111

Biscuit,

As a mere mortal such actions baffle me. Anyway, I'm sure they're richer than I am!

Biscuit - 14 Dec 2005 12:42 - 13630 of 27111

I wouldn't be too sure on that one Bugz but of course they'll claim they are, I think you'll probably find their brokers are very rich, not them!

bhunt1910 - 14 Dec 2005 12:57 - 13631 of 27111

I have to confess to trading these today - selling some at 17.75 this morning and buying back at 17. I dont want to be out of these - but I was disappointed with the initial RNS. I still do not think we know the full story here - abd I am still in for the long term. Someone said there is an EVO update tomorrow with figures - so that will be very interesting..Baza

Confidant - 14 Dec 2005 12:58 - 13632 of 27111

For me the stock is down because the news was known -- hence the 40% or so rise so far this month.

It was the RNS everyone was waiting for because the company had already told plenty of people about it. --- buy the "rumuor" sell the fact.

Also on this understanding of how the company manages its newflow i.e. good news is known well in advance of the news release the silence on the RF business is becoming deafening

bosley - 14 Dec 2005 13:12 - 13633 of 27111

confidant, i think you've read my mind there. if ssanebs is right and there is an evo update tomorrow, let's hope there is news of progress on the greenseal front!!

bhunt1910 - 14 Dec 2005 13:15 - 13634 of 27111

There HAS to be news on the greanseal front - otherwise IMO PI's will leave in droves

Does anyone know if any form of STARPOL can be moulded into RIGID PLASTIC BOTTLE shapes?
In for the long haul.
still very happy.

Red Erik - 14 Dec 2005 13:39 - 13636 of 27111

Tweenie, yes it can be blow-moulded, and outperforms PLA as bottling plastic.

From the Perseco Web Site.

Our innovative packaging solutions range from providing core procurement services to a specialized set of critical packaging services. For example, we've developed an exceptional track record in new-market support. For McDonald's, we provide a consistent global graphic look to all packaging elements throughout the world.

Tonyrelaxes - 14 Dec 2005 16:58 - 13640 of 27111

I've not had the time (or patience!) to plough through Perseco's web site etc but have THEY mentioned the connection with SEO anywhere?

driver - 14 Dec 2005 17:21 - 13641 of 27111

Tonyrelaxes
No I don't think they would at this stage we are only a small part of their overall operation.

Perseco began with our focus on ensuring a reliable supply of high quality, low cost packaging products for McDonald's. Our operations continue to focus strongly on packaging and supply chain services to the McDonald's system with sales in over 100 countries. Our growing list of other prominent business partners includes The Coca-Cola Company, and a group of over 200 suppliers around the globe.

Stanelco wins key deal with Perseco

By John Whitehead 14/12/2005

Environmentally friendly packaging will be supplied to Perseco.

14 December 2005 Biodegradable packaging and food tray lidding specialist Stanelco is linking up with McDonalds supplier Perseco in a partnership aimed at meeting the packaging supply chain majors need for environmentally friendly packaging.

A subsidiary of Havi Global Solutions, Perseco specialises in logistics, supply and promotion for the food service and drinks industries. A long time supplier to McDonalds, the firm added Coca Cola to its client list in the mid-1990s.

Stanelco group managing director Howard White said: We are delighted that Perseco has acknowledged that Stanelco has some of the most advanced packaging technology in the world. This includes both our range of biodegradable food packaging materials from Biotec as well as the technologies within the companys other subsidiaries.
