niceonecyril - 25 Oct 2010 11:04 - 1368 of 3666

A more realistic,

Barclays Capital has an overweight for Afren, raising target to 156p from 130p

aldwickk - 25 Oct 2010 11:21 - 1371 of 3666

I thing Blanche as been on the waccy baccy

Shares in Africa-focused oil and gas explorer Afren (AFRE.L) rise 4.7 percent, after UBS and Evolution lift their target prices following a recent update on its operations in Nigeria.

UBS raises its target to 136 pence from 126 pence and retains a "buy" rating, while Evolution ups its fair value to 131 pence from 115 pence, also with a "buy" rating.

"Last Thursday's operations and subsequent strategy update contained a number of positive messages on the Ebok development and upside potential and the farm in to the OML 115 licence," says Evolution analyst Richard Griffith.

Typo error on the citywire site, but it was good for a laugh, if not for some taking it seriously. 8-)

cynic - 25 Oct 2010 13:57 - 1373 of 3666

like you!

halifax - 25 Oct 2010 14:00 - 1374 of 3666

cynic if you think about the thread heading that is where the sp has to be when AFR is producing more than TLW!

blanche - 25 Oct 2010 14:11 - 1375 of 3666

Cynic, 3.50 is what i believe.

aldwickk - 25 Oct 2010 14:19 - 1376 of 3666

350 , depends how long you will have to wait.

blanche - 25 Oct 2010 14:51 - 1377 of 3666

Depends on your type of investment. As ive stated in the past its a long term investment for me. Been in the share since 2007, so seen 1.80 and 20p. So expecting to see 3.50 sometime in 2012 by which time it will have made me 1/2amil. May even see 5.00 at some stage after that. Afren gonna be another tullow as the header suggests. AIMVHO !!!!!!!

cynic - 25 Oct 2010 15:10 - 1378 of 3666

of course it will blanche

aldwickk - 25 Oct 2010 15:13 - 1379 of 3666

Just think if you had sold @180p, have you banked any profit since 2007 ?

blanche - 25 Oct 2010 15:17 - 1380 of 3666

aldwickk, thats life. But even then 3.50 was my target......... Cynic, jealousy, Ouch!

blanche - 25 Oct 2010 15:23 - 1381 of 3666

Cynic. p.s. Iam not accustom to lying.

cynic - 25 Oct 2010 15:24 - 1382 of 3666

of course not, because she's blonde and stupid!
it was actually mid 2008 when profits should have been banked, and damn smartly too - or at least if one's brain was even half-way in gear

as for me being jealous ..... you must be joking! ..... i don't know what my trading record (if any) was in these over 2008/2009, but certainly my current holding since April 2010 and added to in October is standing me in at a thumping profit

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=AFR&Si

blanche - 25 Oct 2010 15:31 - 1383 of 3666

So what are you classing as a thumping profit, dare i ask??

cynic - 25 Oct 2010 15:38 - 1384 of 3666

you can ask but you don't get, but i am very happy with it indeed as have doubled what it cost me (i use CFDs) ..... normally i would have stashed some of it away, but i have decided to let this one run, probably for some time yet - something of a rarity for me it has to be said

blanche - 25 Oct 2010 15:54 - 1385 of 3666

Well done, And not selling for sometime another wise decision.

cynic - 25 Oct 2010 16:08 - 1386 of 3666

the wisdom will be known after the event, but on balance, i reckon this company should really fly, albeit that it spent a long time on the runway

mind you, AFR has been put in the deep shade by XEL as far as i am concerned, which i bought in march and again in may 2010 .... that is now showing a (paper!) profit of just over 3-fold
