FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

cynic - 21 Dec 2013 17:59 - 13741 of 21973

sticky - we've had our moments but for all that, have a great time over Christmas ..... for us? .... well, we're already at our usual cosy and relaxed watering hole near bath (and balerboy aka emu) which we have now come to for the last 23/24 years, and as usual, the children and now grandchildren are joining us

fred would hate it here as it's far too bourgeois ....... I'm not even sure that the gurniad is included in the selection of daily papers, unless it's used for lighting the log fire

goldfinger - 22 Dec 2013 02:50 - 13742 of 21973

Nice one Chris.

It really is the old shrivelled Manuel in his handed down day wear still wishing for the "old days and rules".

I sometime think it is a pity that the French didn't finish off the job they started in the late 1700s.

cynic,

Have you filched XMAS as well.

But, I don't think I would enjoy your company.

Prefer that of my own extensive family and friends.

As a friend said to me, enjoy the season,, it may be your last!

cynic - 22 Dec 2013 15:19 - 13744 of 21973

you weren't and wouldn't be invited, and I doubt if there are (m)any here who would include you either

goldfinger - 22 Dec 2013 15:37 - 13745 of 21973

Chris Carson - 22 Dec 2013 15:48 - 13746 of 21973

cynic - 22 Dec 2013 15:53 - 13747 of 21973

thanks sticky ...... longish circular walk today along the river frome, starting and ending at a very cosy pub in rode ...... lovely countryside around here, and easy to escape all extraneous traffic and other noise

Fred1new - 22 Dec 2013 16:17 - 13748 of 21973

River!

Be careful not to drop yourself into it!

cynic - 22 Dec 2013 16:26 - 13749 of 21973
