Dick, your playing with fire mate. I did the same many moons ago when I was called Big Willie [no aneatheasetic either], she also hasn't got those typically womens small feet for standing closer to the white goods!

PRM STILL GOING LIKE A BOEING....lw

The teeth remind Me of a party one of the children went to where the party bags all had a set of those spring loaded teeth in them.

First time in the Tea Rooms for nearly a week, glad to see it looking tidy.

Still no sign of the proprietor then?

Socrates - 15 May 2003 16:51 - 1381 of 23498

As you can see the question has been answered for me. Not being a footballing type of person I lean towards the philosophical. I must confess to the liking of the cream tea but must deny the age apportioned to me. Whilst not young, I am assuredly not antediluvian.

Bruin
You can trust me to keep the place tidy for GD. Given that for most of this week hardly anyone has been in for most of the time, it has not been exactly demanding.

I must confess to desertion myself today. It looked like being a blue day (sky) so I jumped into my auto, tasked a minion into walking in front with the red flag, and wended my way through leafy lanes to Ledbury. Such a quaint old place. Her indoors and myself had a nice wander followed by one of those aforementioned cream teas, what else, before trundling home for lunch and then monitor the market. What a pleasant way to spend a day!

Socs, did you call in at The Feathers? Many's the evening I've partaken of their hospitality, young ladies used to love that place.

Glad the Allegro is still chugging.

Clever-dick was well and truly sorted in your absence.
Remember chuckling at the old pantomime line proferred by a young buxom thing who with a slap of the thigh says...
"Thirty miles from London and still no sign of Dick!"...lol...lw

Many thanks, message received and understood.

little willie
I always wondered about that Dick Whittington, always looked a bit effeminate to me!

hilary - 16 May 2003 11:40 - 1385 of 23498

No problem Socs,

I just hope that you acted on it early today.

:-)

Socrates - 16 May 2003 15:21 - 1386 of 23498

Hilary
Thanks, unfortunately I had to go out today and have only just got back. I see both your stocks are up 2.6% so I missed that. Another one of mine, SVB, has just jumped 8% so their open offer would seem to have met with approval.

It may not be your type of stock but have a quick look at MPH, results due next wednesday. They are what I call a bombed out stock. Boardroom problems, profits warning, management changes and all sorts of goings on. Now they seem to be sorted and I'm hopeful of a reasonable set of results. Probably just a punt really but as always DYOR, as I'm sure you would anyway.

Nearly forgot, finally disposed of BULM at 328p, it just kept going up, but discretion is the better part of valour as they say. (Just who are they?)

Had lunch in cavendish House twice this week already. It's strictly not top class nosh but adequate. Could do better. I've already been on to the manager because it's a HOF shop and I'm a holder. The Queens is OK but again, could do better.

What profit lw, I lost a mite on BULM? Not a lot but was grateful to get nearly all my investment back. What really hacked me off about BULM was not getting what had previously been a good dividend.

8 Ball - 16 May 2003 18:50 - 1389 of 23498

Good evening all.

I will be cheering your boys on LW..
Love to see that whinging french git win nothing.

Thanks all for good wishes but, no excuses, they were better than our country boys, sweden etc.....lw

Socrates - 17 May 2003 18:09 - 1391 of 23498

I wonder what all that was about?

Socrates - 17 May 2003 20:54 - 1392 of 23498

Hello Socco, how are you?

Socrates - 17 May 2003 20:55 - 1393 of 23498

Nice of you to ask Forky, I'm great thanks.

Socrates - 19 May 2003 18:29 - 1394 of 23498

Hi Socco, still here I see.

Yes Forky, back at work today though. Mountain of paperwork to catch up with. You know what it's like. No peace for the wicked.

Fancy a cuppa?

OK, I'll put the kettle on.
