How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Hi everyone,
This is my first post as I only found this thread several days ago. Downloaded the excellent slide show from the masters site (thanks peter/scrip ---------- great introduction).
My first question is for Fundamentalist -------- how do you come to 60.21 ???
(Scott from 34.0 you could now lay off at 5.7. If you were to green up you would make 60.21 for every 10 you staked on him.) should it not be 49.65
If this is wrong Fundy. (Please accept this novice apoliges in advance )

Scrip
hope Prutton isnt central to your survival hopes - dont think you'll be seeing much more of him this season! its a mad tackle in a nothing area when already booked - having been sent off pushing the ref and trying to get at the linesman not wise.
Edit - compounded by the goal -im now green

Hi everybody
Was on the course on Wednesday and have just "greened up" for the first time ever. Beside myself with contentment even though its only a fiver.
Scrip I'd buy you a drink if I wasn't so tight!

Afternoon to everyone,
Just managed to get online. I've had to reconnect and reconfigure an old PC. What a headache!
I've noticed quite a few additions to this thread so a warm welcome from me.
I've also noticed that the guy on the Baffleball box looks remarkably like Scrip!

Spent two days in bed following a visit to my Physio who seems to have wrecked the other side of my knee.
However it gave me an excellent opportunity to try out the racing and football trades. I managed to green up on all the football and most of the racing. After a panic trying to cover a loss, remembered to let the loss run and lo and behold it disappeared as Scrip indicated.
Still haven't got myself thinking in ticks yet so limited my stakes to 20 each.
Net after two days +15
So I hope this start is a good omen for the future.
Off to Capetown tomorrow to join a cruise so will be back in a couple of weeks
