Very quiet here, I do hope Sundays are going to buck up a bit, I get so lonely on my own. Time for a cuppa.

8 Ball - 26 Jan 2003 16:26 - 139 of 23498

Stick another bag in the pot please.

vasey - 26 Jan 2003 16:28 - 140 of 23498

The joy of socks, is that, apart from when you put them in a machine, they generally are never alone!

Whilst you're in the kitchen, you couldn't put those sausages (in the fridge) in the oven? They will be cooked and cool enough for the two hounds when they come back....

Socrates - 26 Jan 2003 16:34 - 141 of 23498

OK 8 ball, plenty in the pot for you to wet your whistle.

vasey

Nice to see you.

Oh dear were they for the hounds? I've scoffed the lot. Tell you what, there is a butcher in cheltenham who makes 100% meat snorkers, I'll pop round and buy some as a special treat for them. I'm not sure though, do you think they might prefer venison snorkers or pork and chives perhaps?

vasey - 26 Jan 2003 16:42 - 142 of 23498

Nah! Wait till they complain they haven't been fed!

jeffmack - 26 Jan 2003 17:14 - 143 of 23498

I always try to do my own DIY. Woke up this morning to find find water leaking from the ceiling in my kitchen. The pipe at the top of the cylinder had sprung a leak. I can do that I thought, and I did, took about four hours what with going back and forth to DIY stores. Turned on the water, still leaking, so called an emergency plumber. I'd fractured the top of the cylinder, 300 for a new one .... DOH

Socrates - 26 Jan 2003 17:17 - 144 of 23498

I always try NOT to do my own DIY. For reason why, see post 142.

Olddog - 26 Jan 2003 18:11 - 145 of 23498

You still holding Bulmer? Looks like it might halve on Monday after that late trading statement Friday.

Socrates - 26 Jan 2003 18:52 - 147 of 23498

A chaps got to eat, hasn't he?

Mr Ashley James - 27 Jan 2003 13:22 - 148 of 23498

Socrates,

Where is everyone today, especially the illusive Pooch?

Jeff,

You ommitted that the food in the Lodge was crap and we only go there because of that gorgeous waitress Sexy Suzy!

Cheers

Ash

Olddog - 27 Jan 2003 13:31 - 149 of 23498

Hope you dont mind Gold D.

I've arranged for a park bench to be put outside under the stale air vent at the back of the kitchen.

BULM say we can have one of their industrial size waste can bins if we collect it ourselves. I've arranged to do that tomorrow, ( Sue de Nym will do the driving )

I think that we should investigate putting a 'drive through' style counter in the kitchen so that we can look after any gents on the bench who might be thirsty.

If you think this is a good idea then perhaps you could get an estimate from your builder ?

BTW I havnt said anything to Socks about this yet

Socrates - 27 Jan 2003 17:01 - 150 of 23498

jeffmack
You weren't far off about BULM. I reasoned that you were right but was not in a position to take advantage of it. I would have been quite happy to buy a few thousand at the bottom to sell on the bounce. Lost out there.

Silly thing is that there was nothing new in the announcement. I suspect there was a requirement to make it for some regulatory reason so I expect a steady recovery over the next weeks. The new guy in charge won't hang about getting recovery actions underway.

But I didn't come here to talk shop, someone get the kettle on!

8 Ball - 27 Jan 2003 18:34 - 151 of 23498

Good evening Old socks and all.

Mr Ashley James - 27 Jan 2003 18:40 - 152 of 23498

8 Ball,

You turned up then?

The T Rooms have been quiet today, no idea why.

Cheers

Ash
