I would be quite happy to invest in both stocks,if this has no over all effect. It seems to be more positive for bprg than seo and when the second hearing takes place to unravel patents etc.I think bprg will come out the clear winner.imho

bosley - 07 Oct 2004 17:47 - 139 of 27111

emailpat , i wasnt saying you were one of the righteous brothers. but your post , copied from iii im guessing , is a good example.i aagree with what you and adie are saying , clarity is needed for both companies before they can move on . i mean , look at bprg , everyone thinks its won , it has massive potential and has some big dealings , but the price doesnt seem to be flying.as long as the packaging side of seo is safe , then great things will eventually happen for them .bprg can have the pill patent.i do not care .

hlyeo98 - 07 Oct 2004 17:58 - 140 of 27111

I'm holding both...but bprg seems to be the winner at the moment

emailpat - 07 Oct 2004 20:33 - 141 of 27111

bosley-you will always get strong points of view from both sides which is understandable as money is involved,I just accept it.All we can do is glean from comments and news an understanding of where the stock is now and where it's going, thats the risk and the market,no more no less.

Thanks for that, great info!

hlyeo98 - 07 Oct 2004 23:03 - 143 of 27111

I think it is cheap to buy SEO now...take advantage at its low

Janus - 08 Oct 2004 08:27 - 144 of 27111

Only for the very brave methinks

bosley - 08 Oct 2004 08:57 - 145 of 27111

blimey! lots of sells late afternoon yesterday and this morning.may buy some more at this price.

bosley - 08 Oct 2004 10:53 - 146 of 27111

big support for seo at 4.25p. buys nearly equal to sells now. is something in the offing?

willfagg - 08 Oct 2004 11:12 - 147 of 27111

I confess to coming back in. There have been reassurances about the food packaging side of the business, which is amajor money spinner and i think they looked too cheap.i hope I got lucky at 3.8p

bosley - 08 Oct 2004 11:43 - 148 of 27111

oh good price willfagg. left it too late , too much thinking .i couldnt get that.all things point to the packaging side of the business being safe form any patent complications .it was said in the chairman statement , although his integrity has been called into question of late. and in shares mag they seemed to think it was still ok.

willfagg - 08 Oct 2004 11:54 - 149 of 27111

time will tell, still a little nervous but..........the low price just reeled me in.PS my intuition is my biggest strength....................and weakness!Guess like everyone else just work on getting more right than wrong?

Pond Life - 08 Oct 2004 12:05 - 150 of 27111

Greetings fellow sufferers,
Just goes to show the power of the 4th estate. One 'buy' tip from Shares mag and the thing sinks like a stone!
Over reaction? You would be forgiven for thinking that the company was going bust rather than sitting on a revolutionary tray lidding process that could make millions. (tray lidding? millions? Why is it that I can't even type the words without smiling?)

willfagg - 08 Oct 2004 12:24 - 151 of 27111

Its certainly active today.Mixed trading is starting to bounce back from its lowest though. Could still be a good day.

ptholden - 08 Oct 2004 16:52 - 152 of 27111

I think I have posted this before, but as someone who has an interest in both companies, I am not particularly biased either way. Personally, I believe BPRG have a great future. Currently, I don't have the same warm feeling about SEO. Although the 'tray lidding process' is apparently clear of the patent issue, the matter of compensation which may be awarded to BPGR may be quite significant. BPRG put aside 4mill of exceptionals and I would assume that quite a bit of that was required to fight the case brought on by SEO. I don't expect for one moment that the compensation amount will be any where near that figure, but any amount will make a significant dent in SEO's balance sheet. Their ability to raise additional finance may also be affected by the ruling, whom, afterall, would want to deal with a management team proved to be guilty of patent misuse. The RNS released following the case was also very misleading. From what I can understand, SEO did not win two patents outright, they are both dependant on Patent One. How many people bought into the company on that erroneous information? The other unknown is the possibility of an appeal. Considering that most commentators thought that BPRG would win the case, who would give SEO any possibility of success if they were to adopt this course of action?

I consider that SEO have a great process, most others would also seem to agree. The big question in my mind is can they survive, (financially), the fall-out from the BPRG case?

As I say I have no axe to grind either way, the current low SEO SP may be a great opportunity, but personally I will wait until the dust has settled before dipping in again. In the meantime, this will be a MM's dream as it yo-yos up and down on rumour, counter rumour and any other rumour!! All IMHO of course.

Regards

PTH

Down to 3.88p

Glad I sold out months ago

But day ended with

1 Million trade @ 3.99p
1 Million trade @ 4p

Wonder who that was?

bosley - 09 Oct 2004 10:48 - 154 of 27111

ptholden , if tim freeborns predictions are even a quarter correct then the matter of compensation is small fish for seo.the packaging business is the thing.to be honest , its all i am interested in as far as seo go.the rest was just a bonus which is no longer. no biggy .good buying price right now as far as i am concerned and apple , it wasnt me . wish i could have but alas......

andysmith - 09 Oct 2004 11:21 - 155 of 27111

Bosley, despite being nervous about it I have to say I totally agree with you about the packaging side and as you know I work in this area. I have previously been conservative and said if 10% right no need to worry so 25% and we will eventually end up laughing and wondering what to do with our profits!!
I also agree with some of the other guys in that SEO must question the managements repsonsibility in this, do they have decent patent research people or did they expect BPRG to go bust?
A good buying opportunity now, I have no funds left, bugger!! but once court case is more clear I will make funds available, ok not having too much is this just now, just in case!! I have covered with other risky potentials MMG/DEMG and a good run with GLD/HNR/IDS is compensating so my portfolio is actually up. All I need now is for PXC/MANA to start upwards and SEO bounce back and I will be very happy.
I know some people question the packaging side but this really should be big and I for one would contribute to financing if required. Sometimes people do this to keep their investments going in the hope of survival and not losing everything but in this case survival would bring good rewards.
The 1mil buyers at 4p recognise a bargain, hopefully unless they are mad!

Stanelco in Trials with Oscar Mayer Ltd for use of RF Technology

Stanelco PLC, the RF (radio frequency) applications group, is pleased to
announce that Oscar Mayer Ltd ('Oscar Mayer'), has agreed to trial Stanelco's RF
sealing technology for use in tray-lidding machines in its food packaging
operations.

The technology will be retrofitted into one of Oscar Mayer's Proseal Machines.
This will undergo tests, and subject to its success, it will enter into
full-scale production across its entire range of tray-lidding machines in the
UK.

Oscar Mayer is one of the country's leading producers of ready prepared meals,
supplying over 3 million meals a week in the UK. The company has 30 tray-lidding
machines in 3 locations in the UK.

The use of RF technology in tray-lidding is now the core revenue driver for
Stanelco, representing the most significant element of future projected
revenues.

Ian Balchin, CEO of Stanelco, commented:

'We look forward to demonstrating the benefits of our RF technology to Oscar
Mayer. We have made considerable strides in developing our RF technology for
tray-lidding and there has been massive interest amongst food producers and
packagers alike.'

this now seems to be the way forward for seo. looks like the company has decided to steam ahead in this direction . for an idea of future potential revenues poeple should take another look at tim frreeborns article in shares a few weeks ago when he tipped seo. astronomical!!!!

AdieH - 13 Oct 2004 11:56 - 157 of 27111

Be careful the compensation has not been sorted out yet, hope SEO come out of this alright but I would be cautious at present... DOYR.
