MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

could anyone give me some opinion, if as I bought in @295, very likely I have to wait for long to get that price back. If I keep holding it, is it wise to do that? any suggestion is welcome please.

hlyeo98 - 25 Apr 2005 18:25 - 1390 of 2444

I think it is advisable to buy to average, as MMG has a bright future.

doughboy66 - 25 Apr 2005 18:52 - 1391 of 2444

I was going to do exactly that this time Goldfinger ,last time i could of banked a sizeable amount and got back in for more. Its a hard lesson i have learn`t but like you say i will only off load some .Swseun i agree with hlyeo you should buy to average out your cost price but you really should of done this Friday or today to really bring it down.

swseun

If my memory serves me correctly you have a small holding. If you can't afford to average down then hold. In 6 months or so you won't believe the sp.

LOL

hlyeo98, doughboy66, thanks very much. Year I have topped up a bit when it was @180, not enough cash to cover what I lost :-( I am waiting for more cash until end of this month... not long hopfully.

swseun, you havn't lost a thing yet unless you sold but as gf says lop off your profits at appropriate times becuase you havn't made a thing until you take them. I am very pro MMG but I took out my profits last time through experience of this stock. You should see 295p again if the Ruthenium results are as good as expected. Well done for holding your nerve once it fell, you shouldn't be disappointed with MMG in the long-run, just got caught temporarily with shorters. They've had their day, soon you'll have yours.

swseun - 25 Apr 2005 20:29 - 1395 of 2444

hi andysmith, thanks for your advise. Year, I bought more than 7000 @295, however, I am actually quite happy now as my girlfriend just bought in yesterday (didn't let me know >:, girl's power) in that case, I (with hers) will break even very soon. Keep my faith in MMG.

andysmith - 25 Apr 2005 22:26 - 1396 of 2444

No probs swesun, I held at a loss for the best part of 9 months before I got the chance to take some profit and let the rest run free. I'd like to get back in with more and should have done so last week. You have made a good investment choice and this bb has good info from the likes of Mitzy and gf to help.
Continue to research MMG plus the way the share trades and not only could you be rewarded by MMG but the traders could assist you either make more money or increase your holding along the way. I usually stick to investing only but the last drop from 300p to 200p was predictable even by a novice like me, it had just risen too far too soon and allowed shorters to take over temporarily and they even took it to test 170p. They will be defeated though as MMG has too much to offer within its portfolio and 295p should seem cheap in 12months.

A lot of tactical disscusion going on here. Interesting but one chap over on another board says Mike Walters the tipster of MMG says there will be no price sensitive information given out tomorrow at the R@D meeting.

We shall see.

cheers GF.

aol - 26 Apr 2005 06:48 - 1398 of 2444

There may be little 'new' price sensitive information given today but you can be sure that there will be a much better and wider appreciation of what has been achieved after the R&D meeting than previously.

The earlier presentation in March was to a medical forum and the information presented was not targeted at the investment community. In the words of Dr Best: "The R&D day will also be attended by key people from the MMI team who will be available to answer questions. We hope that this R&D day will lead to investors being better informed about MMI."

As there has been little actual press coverage of the achievements so far this increased understanding may be very effective in bolstering the sp.

Some rather strange trading going on at the moment. Sellers taking profits, but no reason for this?.

cheers GF. Just looks like early volatility. Think Ill top up.

goldfinger - 26 Apr 2005 09:09 - 1400 of 2444

Buyers coming back in now. Cant have helped with this sites technical problems. Some selling their holdings before even getting confirmation of what the R@D meeting is about. A lot of nervy traders, cant blame them after the last time mind they'l regret selling at the low price they have sold at.

Todays meeting should lead to a whole raft of upgrades from Brokers, institutions, newspapers and tipsters. The 250p to 300p range should be within grasp pretty quickly.

cheers GF.

goldfinger - 26 Apr 2005 09:20 - 1401 of 2444

Stability returning. Where is everyone???????????????.

cheers GF.

Madison - 26 Apr 2005 09:26 - 1402 of 2444

Gone to find today's prices somewhere?

Cheers, Madison

The sellers are very small,if you take the 24000 undetermined transactions as sales the mms are balancing their books.

The fertilizer will hit the windmill once the presentation is over, upward in a dig way we hope

Cheers guys I thought I was the only one left on the planet. The money am problems would happen today of all days. Sigh.

cheers GF.

Chiva20 - 26 Apr 2005 09:34 - 1406 of 2444

Bold statement predicting 250-300 GF, I agree with you. I think after last time there are a lot of nerves over today. It'll only take a few tics up to set the ball rolling, the next two hours are crucial.

goldfinger - 26 Apr 2005 09:50 - 1407 of 2444
