Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

markymar - 03 Dec 2003 11:36

free hit countersDesire Petroleum

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

Hi all

Well not much volume today, DES has the same closing price as yesterday. This gave us a doji candle for today. The candle may have bearish implications as it has appeared at the top of the new up trend. The candle is indicating uncertinty in the market as to which way to go (a tug of war between the bulls & the bears). The trend line that has been forming is still intact, DES is still above the 60 day moving average. In general DES is still looking good, but the share price could go either way up, down or consolidate. The market may just be taking a breather before moving up. Confirmation is needed, which should be given tomorrow.

Thankyou Eddie,

My way of looking at it the MMs have been under presure for 4 days and must be short of stock now Friday always a good day if the Buys come in them they have to move the price up...4p i say If not will get stung Very soon as i know more than them.

If i was a MM i would watch the boards so if watching and know me i would start to move the price up.

Bring on Calgary

Hi markymar

Yes it looks like a gap up could be on the cards (don't quote me on that). A gap up would get the volume moving more. It would bring in the bears giving the bulls a chance to push the price up further.

Good Luck All

marky

I take it that your post 1392 is in anticipation of rig announcement next week or maybe its the same info that I've been sat on for some time (will share this with you in private at a later date). Anyway onwards and upwards we've waited long enough.

Keep up your tireless work my friend you are a real asset to every board that you post on.

best regards

Marrow,

If you look back on this thread about a week ago, I did a spiel on spreadbetting, which may help. Also read the spreadbetting firms brochures carefully.

There is some question in my mind about some terminology used on the iii board,

when you talk about 1000 per point, to me that means 100,000 shares...is that what you mean.

When i deal 10 0f Desire at say 40p is equivalent to 1000 shares.

My normal size is 50 or 100 but I'm probably a lot poorer than you.

Thats what spreadbetting does for you...it should have a government health warning....spreadbetting is bad for your wealth!

Hi all

Exelent performance by DES today, volume much better. For a while I thought DES would close over the falling window. The 200 day moving average not looking as far away now, we will see a golden cross soon also. It looks like the bulls intend to coninue the run. The supporting trend line that has been forming is still intact, DES has closed above this line since the hammer at the Fibonacci line. Reading the board, we have good news to come also. A lot to look forward to next week.
