FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

skinny - 14 Jan 2014 17:20 - 13944 of 21973

I only didn't buy because HL don't cover it!

I'm looking at ONVO also and missed the dip earlier.

Shortie - 14 Jan 2014 17:28 - 13945 of 21973

I'm also short on the FTSE (as ever), thought you'd have dabbled in ASOS today Skinny, I sure had some fun...

Balerboy - 14 Jan 2014 20:28 - 13946 of 21973

Shortie..... thats money for old rags!!!

skinny - 14 Jan 2014 20:33 - 13947 of 21973

Shortie :-) - I love watching ASOS and did trade it a couple of times last year - but it is too much of a roller coaster for me.

Shortie - 15 Jan 2014 09:27 - 13948 of 21973

Right I've scaled back my FTSE shorts and taken a few losses after I realised last night I was running too much risk.. What an idiot.. Not the best start to the year..

skinny - 15 Jan 2014 09:44 - 13949 of 21973

Descending triangle on FTSE 5 minute?

Shortie - 15 Jan 2014 10:19 - 13950 of 21973

If it rallies to 6791 then pulls back to complete a third continuation I might be interested..
