Golddog
That's very nice, I might be very kind to you for that. (Not kind enough to let your team win, mind you).

chocolat - 18 Sep 2004 16:09 - 13959 of 23498

Not quite drowned, Stormie...in the last couple of hours I have discovered 37 naughty bits of spyware.
Oh, and a kitten.

Socrates - 18 Sep 2004 16:14 - 13960 of 23498

Choco
What are you using to find the Spyware?

chocolat - 18 Sep 2004 16:33 - 13961 of 23498

SpyBot...been ok up to now, on my machine at home, that is

optomistic - 18 Sep 2004 18:51 - 13962 of 23498

Socs Adaware-6 picks a lot up. Free download, locate on Google etc.

chocolat - 18 Sep 2004 19:05 - 13963 of 23498

Did that this afternoon, opto - 37 little buggers, huh? Told me I had another 300 plus...

optomistic - 18 Sep 2004 19:33 - 13964 of 23498

Hullo Choccie it must have been a while since you ran the prog. I try to run it once a week. But never mind that now how about something nice and warming, it is Saturday night ;-)

Socrates - 18 Sep 2004 19:41 - 13965 of 23498

Opto
I already have Ad-aware 6, always on the lookout for improvements though. It usually finds between 10 and 30 a day.

I also have Norton anti-virus and firewall. I'm lucky in that my ISP, Blueyonder from Telewest, also scan all e-mail traffic and delete any infected stuff going through the network. Saves them getting choked up by denial of service attacks.

Choco
At least all you have to do is "select all" and remove the lot.

optomistic - 18 Sep 2004 19:43 - 13966 of 23498

Ah well I will have to drink them both myself, probably call in later. Bye.

optomistic - 18 Sep 2004 19:46 - 13967 of 23498

Just caught me Socs. I run MacAfee, used to have Norton but I found it slowed my system down, checking all the time in the background, I like MacAfee seems much more user friendly.

Socrates - 18 Sep 2004 20:02 - 13968 of 23498

Opto
Strange isn't it, both Symantec products.

chocolat - 18 Sep 2004 20:06 - 13969 of 23498

Well, I'm back - but not for long...keep misappropriating the kitten (yeah, yeah...I know there's a line in there somewhere)
Nice and warm sounds good, opto. I've had this tiny thing schnuzzled up to me all afternoon. But since I've tried to get on with the supper, the hunt is on..

Socrates - 18 Sep 2004 22:57 - 13970 of 23498

It's getting late so I think I will just have some cocoa and then away to bed. Anyone else want some?

chocolat - 18 Sep 2004 23:00 - 13971 of 23498

Go on then.

Socrates - 18 Sep 2004 23:25 - 13972 of 23498

Hey, I thought I was all alone.

chocolat - 18 Sep 2004 23:28 - 13973 of 23498

So why did you ask then? ;)

Socrates - 18 Sep 2004 23:29 - 13974 of 23498

Talking to myself, sitting here playing with my worry beads. First sign they say.
