The publisher of the official Shanghai Communist Party newspaper is exploring proposals for a London stock market listing that would be a rare move for China's closely-guarded media sector.

The Jiefang Daily Group, which has strong links to China's People's Liberation Army (PLA), has begun the process of seeking clearance to undertake an overseas listing, according to people familiar with the situation.

Land Securities, the UK's biggest listed property company, is to launch a 500m infrastructure fund, with assets including the Government's spy-centre, GCHQ, the M40 and a portfolio of schools, hospitals and prisons.

Harrycat - I haven't heard of them I'm afraid, and I don't see anything on the RNS relating to their any impending float.

It's been my experience that a lot of companies signal their intention to list, and in itself this is part of the advertising process of raising funds, but the hard part is the actual raising of sufficient monies to make the flotation viable. Sometimes companies find that there just isn't the interest in the market and the plan just fizzles out.
