Braemore Resources PLC
16 October 2007

Braemore Resources Plc
('Braemore' or 'the Company')

First PGM Production by Braemore Resources from its ConRoast Smelting Programme
at Mintek, South Africa

Braemore (AIM:BRR) announces its first production of Platinum Group Metals
(PGMs) following commencement of continuous smelting activities at Mintek's
3.0MW smelter in Johannesburg, South Africa. The first PGMs, which are now being
regularly tapped from the smelter as alloys, follow the announcement on 25th
September that Braemore's subsidiary, Independence Platinum (Independence) was
to commence smelting.

The smelter has produced 18 tonnes of alloy with an estimated PGM content of 353
ounces in the period from the commencement of the smelting on 28 September to
Sunday 7 October. This represents a recovery of over 98% of contained PGMs from
over 200 tonnes of dry revert concentrates (high chrome content slag from
smelting operations at traditional 'six-in-line' smelters containing PGMs).

This represents a significant achievement for Braemore, which now becomes a
primary PGM producer, and the company is delighted with the performance of the
smelter and the smooth start up of this smelting programme.

This successful start to the smelting operations has been noticed in the PGM
industry with a marked increase in enquiries from emerging and existing
producers for discussions regarding ongoing supply of concentrates. Progress
has been made in this regard which could see commencement of studies on
additional ConRoast smelters to meet rising demand for smelting capacity that
can process the chrome rich UG2 PGM concentrates. As previously announced,
Braemore has already secured feedstock for smelting at Mintek and is actively
negotiating with various producers. The feedstock material comprises revert
tails and high chrome concentrates.

The feasibility study into the establishment of a new 10MW ConRoast smelting
facility on the western limb of the South African Bushveld Complex for smelting
high-chrome PGM concentrates will be completed by March 2008. Commissioning of
this first dedicated ConRoast smelter is planned for mid-2009.

Managing Director Hamish Bohannan said: 'This production represents a
significant achievement for Braemore, as we are now a member of the exclusive
club of PGM producers. We are particularly pleased with the smooth start-up and
the smelting results to date.'

A bit of info on ConRoast smelting technology: http://www.platinum.matthey.com/media_room/1190800807.html

ValueMax - 16 Oct 2007 12:44 - 18 of 810

Depending on the grade of the smelter feedstock processed, smelting by Braemore at Mintek should produce approximately 30,000 ozs of PGM product from smelting 12,000-15,000 tonnes of material per annum, generating positive cashflow of 2.5-3 million per year.

If they can prove the technology over a sustained period, the exclusive license will make them a prime takeover target.

Do you mean, how do I link to the file from that text?

Difficult to explain without actually typing the HTML code, however as an example to link to MoneyAM's homepage:

1. post a new message
2. type: this is a link to < *a href="http://www.moneyam.com>MoneyAM< */a> ... but miss out the two asterisks.

This will show the following:

this is a link to MoneyAM
