LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Information management software company Infonic PLC said it expects its first-half revenues to be about 100 pct higher than the same period last year, higher than its expectations of a 50 pct rise, due to stronger than expected trading.
The company also said it maintained careful control of its costs and it expects to report positive EBITDA for the period.
Infonic said it will announce its results on September 28.

I bought in at 7.25p a while ago, and am hanging on to this one.
Infonic was a Tiddler to Watch in The Times on 06Nov:
"Infonic, the designer of satellite communication software for US and UK Armed Forces, jumped 0.75p to 8.375p on winning an 8.3million contract with the MoD as part of a consortium with EDS. The first phase is to install the kit at 250 sites in the UK. JM Finn analyst, Paul Cornelius, believes the contract will go further than this."

I would hang-on if I'd bought at 7.25p as well but currently judging first purchase and would like to know the financing details mentioned in the report of MOD contract. That said, I have a buy-if in place anyway, not yet triggered.

If I hadn't cancelled my buy-if 2 days ago I'd be in today but still awaiting details of the discussions with shareholders about financing before I commit to investing here.

and still falling, won't be setting any buy instruction until either a seller is cleared or there is more substance to the discussing financing with shareholders. If there is a placing, the further it falls the greater the dilution. Maybe one for the watchlist until ther if FY black ink and not half-year before exceptionals?

I bailed out on Friday as I felt uneasy about the rumours re refinancing. Too bad - made a loss but luckily hadn't put a large amount in. Moved it into TRAC instead (which does yoyo somewhat, so one needs to be careful).

UK small cap opening - Infonic higher amid rumours of strong trading update
AFX: The Times' Rumour of the Day column on Saturday said that Infonic -- formerly known as Corpora -- should publish a strong trading statement this month.
Actual text from The Times, on 29 December:
Rumour of the day
Keep an eye on Infonic, formerly known as Corpora, a maker of data management software for the military and market traders, up 0.125p at 5.375p. It has fallen steadily from a 48p peak in 2004 as at least 15 share issues failed to add value, but a recent shake-up has improved finances and a trading statement next month is expected to be strong.

At the moment we still have to wait the EGM before the issue of the fund-raising is confirmed which is 20% dilution at 5.5p per share. That said, the forecast 2008 profit of 2.1m will still provide EPS of 0.8p so will still be trading on low PE.
IMO, anything below 6p will be a good long term buy if IFNC now starts to deliver good returns and assuming not too many more dilutions. Potential for 12p is possible?

EGM coming up on Friday 11 January, so not long to wait.

One to keep an eye-on especially if trading update provides improved forecasts but they must now have strong cash-flow to avoid further dilutions through placings.

FY08 at EPS 0.95p is PE <7. Looking good with contracts in the bag, growth propects and imstituntional investment.

Commenting, Mark Thompson, Chief Executive of Infonic, gave the following update
on trading and recent Company appointments:
'The Company is pleased to inform shareholders that cash receipts in December
were in excess of 4m and the results for the year ended 31 December 2007 will
be marginally ahead of current market expectations. The Company anticipates
that it will announce its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December
2007 during the week commencing Monday 24th March and will give shareholders a
full update at that time.
We are pleased to have completed this fundraising under very difficult market
conditions and remain positive in terms of outlook. Demand for our products is
growing and we anticipate that this will continue to drive our organic growth.
Key to that organic growth has been our Group Head of Sales, David Hornsby, and
his team, whose focus and determination has been an absolutely essential element
in the translation of our products and strategy into practical, deliverable
sales. We are pleased to be able to invest further in the expansion of the
sales team.
