Jacque Vert are a favourite of mine. I've bought on each downturn and collected some nice profits in the past.
With some amazing assets and brandnames, bought for shares last year, the smart boys are now ready for action. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a takeover before the finals, people are now moving in.
Should I buy more?

Just curious about the departure of Bill Walker - was this expected as everyone seems to still be upbeat about JQV? Had he done all he was hired to or was this a big surprise?
Cheers, Blanny19

The speed was a bit unexpected but I think the ideals he imposed will hold the company in good sted.
Todays trade is mixed

The spread has spread slightly.
Is this the bottom?

Greetings JRM, just checked in to see if you were still alive. Are we alone? Do you think anyone else is eavesdropping?
Is this the bottom indeed - or is it the end? I've given up with this share. Still its the end of the trading year on Friday let's hope for better things to come in 2004/05. Still a long way to go before we get results in July. I don't suppose that there is any chance of a trading update is there?
I continue to hold only because I just couldn't bare to sell out at this level.

Just popped in to say hello JRM. No news, this is without a doubt the most unoved share on the market. Most of us are here because we were daft enough to buy in after the ramp by Mark Watson-Mitchell - I hope the smug git's bank have called in his overdraft!
Still, today is the last day of fiscal 04 for JQV. Let's hope that May starts a new and more positive chapter in the JQV story. From tomorrow morning we could be sitting on a share with a forecast EPs of 4.87 and a forward P/E of just 3.18! (Figures taken from Barclays Stockbrokers concensus of brokers forecasts). This share will have to move soon if that forecast holds good.
I might give the company a call and ask if they have any plans to issiue a trading update.
Keep the faith - this could still turn out for the best.

By the way - forecast EPS for this year is 1.57p for an EPS of 10. I won't buy any more until results - I want to see if the current forecast is anywhere near correct and I'll read what the directors have to say. If it is accurate and the forward statement sounds positive then let's make sure that we top up before the crowds arrive!

Will this morning about Belinda from Debenhams going to the competition spark any interest?

Is this another chance to buy?
The retail sector is popular at the moment and there are some big, powerful shareholders on the register.

Greetings JRM,
Its still lonely in here isn't it? I can't stand seeing a man talk to himself - it just isn't right! This is not a new poster - I am really Lord Gnome, but I have had to log in under a different name now.
I am still holding on to JQV - but only just. I can't stand watching my investment bleed away every day and if I had stuck to my usual rules I would have kept to my stop loss and sold out at 17p. However, I still believe that these shares are just too cheap to be true. If they are then we are quids in and if they are not then we are just suckers. Not long until we find out one way or the other. Best wishes to all sufferers.

Hi All, you kindly asked for the female input on this!
Jacques Vert, well kinda think of your Mum, the occassional hat, the occasional wedding uniform, this stuff really is for the middle of the road woman who doesn't know who she is, it neither makes a statement nor has it's own flair! IMHO.
Unfortunately for JV, we all moved on from this, if your looking for retail investments then Next, although pricery, does have the cutting edge; which is where the money keeps rolling in from.
I have seen this seasons JV range, i can see most items greatly reduced at many of our factory units for which JV dump tons every season at a fraction of the cost. Yes, sometimes i buy JV there, never otherwise!
Hope this helps.

Brockman - er... or brockwoman!
Thanks for the posting, you seem to agree with my wife. Any views on the other brands in the JQV stable such as Planet, Windsmoor and Precis? My beloved thinks that they are all past it. Whenever I go to the shops (Debenhams) I always have a look at their offerings and I have never spotted a customer yet. Where's your factory unit? Is it worth a visit for some cheap designer togs?

Ah, well you won't see the customers at the Windsmoor and Petite Precis sections in Debenhams, the gran's who are selecting from Windsmoor have shrunk by a foot, slow moving and are huddled over their zimmers, not easy to spot when walking the gangway through. The Petite Precis section may or may not be full of dwarfs, you will have to crawl the racks on your knees for better research ;o)
I do like Planet, they get it some of the time, however there is always rakes of it shipped to Ashfords McCarthur Glen factory unit. No one I know buys this stuff at their shops anymore, they don't seem to realize how much is "pisses a girl off" when they buy something and then see it two weeks later half price at the outlet.
The outlets I know are down here in Kent, we have the McCarthur Glen in Ashford and DeBradlei Wharf in Dover.

Where have you all come from?
A top knob from Argus will shake things up and the price is already heading north.
