Alpha Airports (AAP)

Socrates - 03 Feb 2005 19:08

I was going to use the old rampers phrase but I just couldn't bring myself to title the thread "Alpha Airports Taking Off".

But they have put on some pennies in the last few days, 8.99% today alone. Don't ask me why, I haven't a clue, but if you have I would appreciate the information.

Jumping today.

Alpha Airports just took off. Possible take-over is very good news.

Autogrill now bought another 17.4% of AAP for a total holding of 29.9%. I cannot believe they would pay over the odds for such a stake if there was no intention to buy the lot, eventually.

what sort of price for full takeover?

I'd be happy to sell at 125p but there may be enough holders would sell out lower than that. I've seen 126p bandied about but that was just an educated guess from another holder. Bear in mind that there must be a few holders who bought when AAP floated at 140p, but I suspect that if offered a substantial chunk of their original investment they may well be tempted to get out.

It will be interesting to hear the boards views on Autogrill's actions.

That's that then, all over bar the shouting, buy out at 110p. Can't see another offer coming in, too late for that in my opinion, not now that Autogrill own such a large chunk of the equity.
