bhunt1910 - 13 Jan 2006 08:27 - 14097 of 27111

No mention of SEO by name in the NF statement? NOC

samon - 13 Jan 2006 08:33 - 14098 of 27111

Must have been dreaming!

Thought there was a beautiful post on here to start the day!

samon - 13 Jan 2006 08:34 - 14099 of 27111

Could it be the wrong thread?

niceonecyril - 13 Jan 2006 09:10 - 14100 of 27111

samon, NF replace ferndale only recently as a supplier to ASDA, the implications are
they will convert to Greenseal. Now i know it doesn't state SEO in the RNS,but
i feel their transformation could include GS, it is after all a general statement
without any specific's.

thankyou

bhunt1910 - 13 Jan 2006 09:31 - 14102 of 27111

...and up we tick - only a little tick - but right direction nevertheless

hewittalan6 - 13 Jan 2006 09:49 - 14103 of 27111

Blonde and stupid head on again this morning.
Haven't we done the Northern Foods thing before and SEO said they were not part of the plans for Greenseal at the moment? Aren't Northern foods talking about factory refits that don't include Greenseal when they talk about the capital expenditure on production and changes to the process?
Someone tell me I'm wrong, please, but I thought Northern were out of the equation for now.
Alan

bhunt1910 - 13 Jan 2006 10:44 - 14104 of 27111

Alan - I spoke to NF last September - and they confirmed then that they were not using the new technology "at the moment".

Of course that was 3-4 months agao - and a lot can change in that time in this game

hewittalan6 - 13 Jan 2006 10:46 - 14105 of 27111

I hope it has changed. How good would that be????
Alan

niceonecyril - 13 Jan 2006 10:48 - 14106 of 27111

Hewitt,You may be right about NF, not followed SEO as closely of late.
To busy with VOG,IEC and EME, not bad for a blonde?
cyril
ps, you could check out my threads on the above.

nicksig - 13 Jan 2006 11:50 - 14107 of 27111

Any views on those 1m+ trades that have just gone through? They are marked as buys - is this correct?

bhunt1910 - 13 Jan 2006 12:07 - 14108 of 27111

NICK - THEY WEREN'T MINE - Looks about right to me - and the price has remained stable. If they had been sells - I would have expected a reaction in the sp.

Someone is supremely confident
Baza

Biscuit - 13 Jan 2006 12:18 - 14109 of 27111

I think that would explain why the price has been bouyant even when some big sells have been going through, I guess those large buys where in the background.

nicksig - 13 Jan 2006 12:20 - 14110 of 27111

Thanks for reply Baza. It looks like you're right - buys now at 15.75. I can't imagine anyone would put in that amount of money on the offchance. Do you think some positive news is about to come?

Phart68 - 13 Jan 2006 12:28 - 14111 of 27111

Hello all,

The other day I received the following link in a Google search I setup for ‘Starpol’. I was a bit confused at the time at the link had no mention of Starpol or Stanelco, so I just discarded it.

http://www.epi-global.com/en/EPI/InnovationsinplastsEd24p8.pdf

Looking back through my emails I came across one from PM1 who had come across the same document, but he had found that it contained some hidden text!
You can’t see it on your screen, but if you print the document you will see there another article in column 3, see below. And well done Paul!

14th December 2005

Stanelco expands Starpol Range

UK based Stanelco PLC is expanding its Starpol range of biodegradable packaging materials with the development of a new material.
Starpol 3000 will have all the attributes and characteristics of the existing product, Starpol 2000, but will be transparent, thus increasing the number of market opportunities.
For example, Starpol 3000 will be able to be used for applications like the packaging of fruit and vegetables, where packages usually tend to be clear.
Lack of transparency was one of the main problems identified with the Starpol 2000 product. Another disadvantage is that it is not heat stable, and so cannot be used in an oven or microwave.
Cost is another issue Stanelco hopes to solve with the development of Starpol 3000. The cost of Starpol 2000 is slightly higher than that of its non-biodegradable counterparts, but with Starpol 3000 Stanelco fully expects to be able to match the price of traditional oil-based plastics.
Stanelco is hopeful that the product will be ready to be formally launched in the new year. It has already been shown to a small number of companies, the majority of whom, it is claimed, have shown significant interest.

Good news on the horizon then!

Phart - Hi

I got that from Paul too - fascinating bit of detective work.

Everyone try it - Stanelco/Starpol section was removed from the visible text but not when printed.

Begs the question why?

Well done and thanks Paul (if you are looking in) and PH
