Welcome back, Little Winky.

Hope you had a great time in the UK. Was I out on the night that you rang to take me and Jeffie out for a drink?

Has anybody here got any experience of downloading songs from the internet to burn onto CD? My kids want to do it, and there seem to be quite a few websites which all seem to charge about the same. Napster seems to be about the most expensive. Is there any particular recommended site?

My son still downloads his music from Kazaa, its free or you can pay about $20 and not have the advertising. He probably downloads about 100+ songs per week, he then burns them to CD with Windows Media Player. I get the CD's for free, so he plays them for a few weeks then bins them. He usually keeps the songs on hard drive so he can add them to new compilations if he wants to.

Kazaa is also good for pictures and video. You can gets lots of TV programs for example but the files are fairly big.

I think some people in the USA have been taken to court for downloading from Kazaa, so something to be aware of. We have used it for more than a year with no problems.

Thanks Jeff. I'll look at them a little bit later.

Are there any others to be recommended?

Fundy: I have just whizzed through approx 400 posts and noticed you had a birthday a few days ago, but I didn't catch which day. I had my birthday in Paris on Saturday. Do we share the same date? (By the way, Many Happy Returns, whatever day it was, and I'm sorry my felicitations are belated!)

Just got back and fridge is full of fresh croissants, pates, terrines and gooey things...... The chocolate/raspberry maccaroons from Rue Faubourg St Honore ......!!!!!!!

hilary, winmx,a shared files site.i have never had a problem,,,,and its free/easy to use.

stockbunny - 21 Sep 2004 14:48 - 14129 of 23498

Happy belated birthday Priscilla!!! I'm tempted to say the best
people have birthdays in September (wink)...but common sense prevails as
does the ever visible stock pot in the kitchen with my name on it!!!

We need to re-name this place The Night Club I think it's doing more
business in the wee small hours then in normal tea-rooms ones.
Taking that thought further on...
Welcome back Little Willie - great to see you back again!!!!

I'll just sit back and watch my stockwatch for a while, been working
this morning and I'm slightly brain-mashed right now..so a glass of
Shiraz should do nicely...
