Bunny Girl,

No. Won't touch Spyware or Adware. I've got Personal Firewall with pop-up blocker activated plus a firewall on the router. I'm happy that I'm sufficiently protected atm, but I'm worried about being more susceptible with the p2p thingie of kazaa. Having said that, I do wonder if kazaa will actually work properly on the network.

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 14:41 - 14360 of 23498

Well I don't know cos I'm firewalled as well and it got thru as part of
the actual music download itself - don't ask I don't understand either
just be careful...

optomistic - 23 Sep 2004 14:42 - 14361 of 23498

Hilary,
It ws some while since I had Kazaa on my PC when I had a problem and lost a lot of data, I think the music on my system as well. Anyway I decided to unload Kazaa and that was when the problems started. Something related to Kazaa was left in the registry and it persistantly caused a lot of error messages. It took me a lomg time to sort it because I didn't know what the problem was, until I came across some articles on an error fixing site where other people were having the same error messages popping up. From here I learned how to enter the registry and removed the offending line. Please note by searching for Kazaa and removing all found links did not remove the registry entry. Perhaps these glitches have now been removed and all is well but it is something to consider (I would not personally reload Kazaa)
Now did I hear somsone mention Guiness, I think I've earned one.....Please.

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 14:46 - 14362 of 23498

It was me about half an hour ago (lol) but I'll get you a fresh pint.

optomistic - 23 Sep 2004 14:51 - 14363 of 23498

It was Bunny thanks I've been busy cutting grass. Come in to find I've got a good blue stock....KEL. This has happened before and at the end of the day it's gone back to the other colour. Ready for that Guiness, are you going to join me with a Cab Sauv? Or are you going to be a good little Bunny:-)

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 14:57 - 14364 of 23498

Well I've given up doing actual work today now, all put away until
tomorrow morning when I'll hit the keyboard again with renewed purpose
(in theory..) so yes a glass of Cab Sauv' would be nice.

I've got 1 or 2 blue stocks - VOD as you know and dixons keep turning
blue or green at intervals - not an investors day...

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 15:00 - 14365 of 23498

Oh steady....WD. is having the odd blue moment too now....:>)

optomistic - 23 Sep 2004 15:04 - 14366 of 23498

OK Bunny Cab Sauv it is then, but just the one for me I have still some more work to do today I'm sure if I didn't have a PC it would be nearly all done now, but then I would have to find something else to do :-)

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 15:06 - 14367 of 23498

Agreed - there's always something else..and something else that could
be done!

optomistic - 23 Sep 2004 15:09 - 14368 of 23498

Bunny who's WD? can't get it to come up on stockwatch

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 15:28 - 14369 of 23498

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 15:31 - 14371 of 23498

JJ - don't worry, good luck with your mini domestic crisis...
they tend to be the worst...

optomistic - 23 Sep 2004 15:41 - 14372 of 23498

Seems to be the season for Domestics, send em in here jj we'll sort em!!
Bunny no wonder I couldn't find WD!!

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 15:44 - 14373 of 23498

Sorry Opto - minor wild goose chase for you...daft epic anyway
WD would be far more sensible!! But it's lost the bit it had now,
so not much point looking - VOD down to a penny gain, it's all
going pear shaped....

optomistic - 23 Sep 2004 15:53 - 14374 of 23498

Don't know whats gone wrong KEL still up 8+p. Too early to count my money yet, still half hour left for it to come down.

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 15:57 - 14375 of 23498

Err a little less negative thinking Sir if you don't mind!! ;>)

stockbunny - 23 Sep 2004 16:33 - 14376 of 23498

I'm going to get busy polishing glasses behind the bar - just in case
Kayak comes in, no-one knows where I am OK.....(re: ladies thread and
hoovers!)

Socrates - 23 Sep 2004 16:48 - 14377 of 23498

Hello all.

Hilary
You need to have something like Ad-aware 6 to get rid of the data miners and some other dross. It's free to download the personal version and you will be surprised what it will find. It was recommended to me and it is also in use at work where it was installed by our IT pro's. Windows XP update also has a pop-up blocker which works well for me.
