Morning All,
Socs..Ask Jeff re banks; if he can't give you good advice at least he'll tell you which one makes the best tea...

Golf AGM last night, my head hurts, too much Windhoek...lw

jeffmack - 28 May 2003 20:41 - 1443 of 23498

What do I know, Japanese banks are losing pots

Socrates - 28 May 2003 21:04 - 1444 of 23498

'Evening all.

Jeff, what's this about pots, it's money we are interested in not gardening or cooking. I think I ought to have a bank in my portfolio but I may be Barcing up the wrong tree. What are you into these days, shorting is not quite such a dead cert as it was, even EK is feeling the effects I see?

lw, watch that plonk, it'll do you no good.

I bumped into Priscilla on "the other board" today. Such a nice surprise. She was cleaning up on the DYS thread, up 8.5p today. What brought that on I wonder?

[:-)

vasey - 28 May 2003 22:17 - 1445 of 23498

Hi Socks: Just keeping the DYS thread alive over there and bringing the thread to the top. Thanks for opening a bottle, it would be rude to leave without a glasss........xxxx

little willie - 29 May 2003 09:23 - 1446 of 23498

Morning guys,
In need of a non-alcholic thirst quencher; lovely day in progress, believe you have the same over there, enjoy it.
Think I'll have one of the local quenchers, a pint of Steelworks, agghh lovely.
Ginger beer, lemonade, lime and Angoustera Bitters.
Haven't signed the pledge but taking Socs advice on board!!
TFC gone wild this am plus a bit of movement on my old 'dog' SPS altho' have to say that 'the minx' told me to quit whilst I was ahead..
PRM still on climb back so my huskies are working....lw

Socrates - 29 May 2003 17:32 - 1447 of 23498

Good day to you all, a nice blue day on Forky's portfolio today. The dogs are feeling the urges of spring and are stirring again.

Vasey
Another penny on DYS, which was nice!

[:-)

vasey - 29 May 2003 20:32 - 1448 of 23498

Keep the faith there, Socks! I thought of you when I saw the price change, knowing it would make at least one person I know smile!

Socrates - 30 May 2003 17:41 - 1449 of 23498

Of couse, it could just be wind!

little willie - 02 Jun 2003 10:27 - 1451 of 23498

Morning all, just in from 12 holes golf but its raining here and as we got to our house behind the green we decided enough was enough and packed in.
Hope uk is nice and dry.
FTSE and minors looking quite buoyant, anyone going to stick their neck out and say, recovery is definately underway? My portfolio is looking healthier and healthier, even some old bow-wows that I'd given up on!
Vasey..I stopped posting on mtp, what was the eventual outcome? Did they go into the hands of the reciever or is there still life in the 'wotsit?'...lw

vasey - 02 Jun 2003 22:35 - 1455 of 23498

lw: good to hear from you. MoPo has another High Court hearing on Wednesday. Directors say it is the last one and then we're all off again with plans for an EGM. I'll believe it when I see it! No Receivers were ever appointed and it is still breathing....just!

hilary - 03 Jun 2003 09:39 - 1456 of 23498

Hello HT,

It really makes no difference to me whether I trade long or short. It's just a numbers game in my view, and as long as I stick to my strategy for entries and exits and don't allow myself to be sidetracked, I'll win far more often than I lose. It's only when I break my own rules that I lose big time, so the obvious thing is not to break the rules (in reality, that's much easier said than done!).

Anyway, even though I've got my bulls hat on at the moment, I've still got some open short positions (9 long, 2 short) and I'm just going with the flow and keeping an open mind on the future.

Socrates - 03 Jun 2003 17:36 - 1457 of 23498

Hello all.

Hilary
Sounds a good philosophy to me, I break my own rules all the time but I'm getting better at it! Did you ever look at MPH, it's still going up?

Vasey
You're surely not still into MoPo are you? I thought that was long gone. DYS is still stirring.

HT
Good luck with the GG's.

jeffmack - 03 Jun 2003 18:32 - 1458 of 23498

Evening Socs

Socrates - 03 Jun 2003 18:59 - 1459 of 23498

Evening Jeff, are you at work?

hilary - 03 Jun 2003 20:21 - 1460 of 23498

'fraid not Socs. I missed the obvious entry and I would've broken my rules to have entered after that. Compliance is the key, you see.

:-)

hightone - 03 Jun 2003 20:25 - 1461 of 23498

Jeff no nag jumps out at me but good luck (-:

Hil what are your rules in a nut shell and which broker do you use cheers.

Hi there Old Socs keep my seat warm at the old Fez Club for me and if you want a drink or two put it on HT tab cheers.
