You could have also bought @ 288p when i first started this thread and sold
at 15 50p+.
Out of these at the moment, not happy with the politics. I believe that the company will deliver, however i feel nervous to hold with any confidence.
Good luck to those who still hold, and the pipelines should be opened up soon?

ps doing nicely with OIL, EME and AFR, all looking positive.

Picked this up on TMF
Begins:- ..according to this report...highlighted by

This article in the moscow news is probably the most balanced and informative so far."
So this is really about valuation and the judge will be the London & US exchanges. A good description of comparisons wtr calculation of reserves, all in non-tech speak. It come a bit clearer when you get to...
"According to Mitvol, that data had been audited by the international oil and gas consulting company Miller and Lents between 1982 and 1987. According to Imperial's 2006 annual report, the company "began 2006 with independently reported reserves of 228 million barrels of probable reserves," which by December 2006 had increased to 802.6 million barrels. "I don't understand this difference," Mitvol says, "they did almost nothing there since they bought the blocks. They simply changed the interpretation of the data."
Plus comments regarding the source & credibility of the "new" geological survey and just to muddy the water some more suggestions of CEO selling.
Read it and make up you own mind. Nothing to say that political risks are removed but it reads to me like that "judgment" in the short term will be in London. Question is is the long term relationship damaged?
So anyone holding a 10 bagger? Of course if you shorted this at the right time you could have made a bit too. :-)
"But Mitvol is skeptical. "Look, the company today is worth 10 times more than it was only two years ago. All because of this new data interpretation. How is that possible?" he asks."

Agreed that IEC is a iffy share at this moment, reduced my holdings to 5%. Made a very nice profit(started this thread when under 3),however the statement by
Mitvol is flawed. Block 80 resources have been increased on data interpretation by
D&M, but the other blocks rerated are from recently drilled wells along with modern fraccing technics add to this the pipelines which have been built( and due to
start producing this coming week, all being well). So a nervy time for holders and only time will tell, but the market are already aware of the above post as it was released last thursday.

Cynic not to difficult to call (4.7% no great amount)? Just reinvested 5% from my fat profits (from 288p/15),and of course we still could see production of the pipelines any day now? Thats my own personal decission, my real point was the cut and paste item that you posted was not a true picture, simply that.

and what, one may ask, is the true picture of any company or its shares let alone one working in murky Russia or China, albeit that i fully admit to having a chunk of POG (i argue it has much better pedigree and history than almost all in Russia)
however, i am happy to repeat that this stock (IEC) is for nutters and masochists!

cynic you know your avoiding my point regarding IEC not doing anything other than reinterperating the figures, that simply was not the case and was the whole point of my post.
As far as your last statement, probably true, but then live is short.

Cynic,i get the feeling you are bored,no you could have bought in at 1575p or 25p,
from 288p myself. Now as i said bought back a few not at the 1183 a whole lot less, and really you should look around. I see other stock taking a far bigger hit due to the latest market turbulance, in fact all in all IEC has got off lightly.

reason for latest was merely because a certain person derided me for advising great caution in my post 144 of 15 July when sp was 1200+ but threatening to fall - as it duly did and as predicted
