Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Haystack,

Interesting idea. With our current DB structure this would not be possible, however I have been considering some changes to the BBs, and ill put this on my list.

If anyone can think of anything else they would like on these bbs, now would be the time to make your opinions heard. Im not promising that they will *all* be implimented, but its easier to plan for things in the beginning than making huge changes half way through :)

I think it is important that when searching for an EPIC or any search term that the search is done on both BBs and the threads listed with an indication of which BB they are on. This how ADVFN do it and it would encourage people to upgrade if they thought there were topics on the Traders BB that they could not access but would be of interest.

I cannot see why there could not be a crossover thread. It could actually just reside on say the Investors database and be visible from the Traders one also. Traders accounts can access and update Investors BB threads after all.

BrianTrayda - 30 Nov 2003 09:37 - 1453 of 7315

The problem with "bridging" threads is that the thread list becomes too big and you are not mixing like with like. If they do exist there must be an option to hide them. Also, who would be allowed to create them? Investors or Traders. Think of the consequences. All the Investor threads appearing in the Traders list.
There is a very pratical reason why it's not a good idea. Those on the Investor side could easily be led into bad trades by postings from the Traders side. We all ramp and all know how to treat those ramps, but would that apply to the Investor side where there are folks who aren't so "wise" and could be easily led?
All in all I am against the idea.

Haystack - 30 Nov 2003 19:51 - 1454 of 7315

No. I was merely thinking of one thread bridging the two BBs as a sort of social get together or a place where both BBs could contribute. I agree that any more than that would be a mistake.

Kayak,

Not bad latency either...

Biker - 01 Dec 2003 13:57 - 1459 of 7315

I've lost my stock monitor. Just getting a grey box with a cup of coffee in the top left hand corner. I took the hint, but now I've overdosed on coffee whilst waiting for some prices.

I know I risk this sort of thing by using Apple Macs, but it has always worked before.

Any ideas?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 01 Dec 2003 13:58 - 1460 of 7315

Biker,

It seems from what you have said that your Mac is for some reason struggling to load the applet that runs Stockwatch - can you do a restart on your Mac and try again - if you are still not able to access after this then please E mail me ian@moneyam.com and I will take it from there.

Regards

Ian

Still got the coffee Ian. :(

However, I've just received my copy of OS 10.3 so I'll install that tonight and try again. Might cure it.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 01 Dec 2003 17:26 - 1470 of 7315

Kayak,

It seems that ALTERNET have decided the best route from you to us is via uu.net. Unfortunately there isnt much I can do about that :(
