rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

US initial jobless claims 315k vs 330k exp
February US import prices 0.9% vs 0.4% exp m/m
US retail sales Feb m/m +0.3% vs +0.2% exp

The yanks changed theirs last weekend, so the US of A opens at 1:30 atm.
