RTD - Why? (RTD)

Nitefly - 15 Sep 2003 10:55

Why are we again at 10.5p bid?

It doesn't add up...

Good Results + Strong buying pre results + Christmas online buying soon = Price drop

Then again some companies that have debt for equity hanging in the balance, poor results and bankruptcy around the corner and they go up!

Why sell now at a loss?

Wont that be a kick in the teeth when we see 13.5p 14p again!

Best of luck all.

Fred1new - 14 Sep 2004 22:03 - 1498 of 2406

From my memory of The Walt disney film 60 years ago he developed a long nose and big ears and Jimmy Cricket wasn't happy. But it is just a fading memory!

Douggie - 14 Sep 2004 23:37 - 1499 of 2406

I thought the long nose was the result of telling lies,(I don't remember him being smoked) Big ears was Noddys friend, and being not happy was a trade mark of the Irish comic....'and there's more' ............ but I'm too tired now!

enjoy tomorrow

Fred1new - 14 Sep 2004 23:41 - 1500 of 2406

As I said fading memories. Perhaps I was smoking.

Douggie - 15 Sep 2004 08:27 - 1501 of 2406

morning keep up the banter anyway.

parveen1 - 16 Sep 2004 14:41 - 1502 of 2406

looks like another sell off taking place.

it hurts !!!!!!!!!

pachandl - 16 Sep 2004 15:42 - 1503 of 2406

If this continues I think that we really will be hearing renewed rumours of an MBO. The share price really does not factor in the good news, even taking account of the threatened patent litigation.

geeboy30 - 16 Sep 2004 15:44 - 1504 of 2406

sorry for being a dim wit.
i suppose mbo is management buy out.
how would that affect the regular shareholder? do you get given a price that you have to accept?

pachandl - 16 Sep 2004 16:00 - 1505 of 2406

MBO was mooted in the press a few months ago (when the price was about 20p) -"directors dissatisfied" etc etc. I am not suggesting that shareholders will be particularly happy about this, even if the mbo price offers a reasonable premium on today's price as the majority probably bought at 20p+.

geeboy30 - 16 Sep 2004 16:38 - 1506 of 2406

i would be happy to get my 20p back and get out of this

Fred1new - 16 Sep 2004 17:59 - 1507 of 2406

Having bought at 5p sold some and bought since then I would not like a management buy out. Rarely if ever do the pay the future market price, but who would like to hold a company with disatisfied management. I would think a price in advance of 25p would be accepted by many shareholders, but I think in the longterm future this will be seen as cheap.

Anybody worked out the value of the M&S deal.

Douggie - 16 Sep 2004 18:32 - 1508 of 2406

:o[[[[[[[[[ right down in the mouth pocket hurts too!!!!!!

overgrowth - 16 Sep 2004 23:04 - 1509 of 2406

Lot's of people shorting RTD at the moment. When a strong support level is reached (probably 14p) there won't be any profit left for them to make, so they'll be off onto the next one.

Director buys will help to bring positive sentiment back, but those guys aren't going to buy until Daniel Stewart tell them that the shorting has stopped.

When we get back to 20p geeboy, that's exactly the time not to sell, the price will then be on its way to 30p. It can be very sickening to sell out at break even only to watch with amazement over the course of a few months as the price goes skyward - I've done it before (only ONCE though lol!).
