FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

The annoying video is back, I had to re-enable that plugin that turns the video off otherwise City Index doesn't work. I'll therefore be logged out of MAM for most of the day.

I think everyone has gone away into hiding because of that bl**dy video ad!
Quite right too as it seems to resurrect itself all of the time. Mute button very welcome!

Well done Shortie - for some reason, I thought that you had gone short yesterday.

I was presented with three get out of jail with a small profit earlier - but took none!

jimmy b - 25 Mar 2014 09:49 - 14983 of 21973

I was running a big loss from last week and closed at a profit just now , i should watch what you two do .
Here's a question why don't you stay in FTSE trade's over several days when it's down,, ,for instance earlier this month it was 6850, yesterday it was 6515 ,if it starts to bounce back it can put on 2 or 3 hundred points ??
