rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.
for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ
for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

Well done Shortie - for some reason, I thought that you had gone short yesterday.
I was presented with three get out of jail with a small profit earlier - but took none!

I was running a big loss from last week and closed at a profit just now , i should watch what you two do .
Here's a question why don't you stay in FTSE trade's over several days when it's down,, ,for instance earlier this month it was 6850, yesterday it was 6515 ,if it starts to bounce back it can put on 2 or 3 hundred points ??

This is why I've been reluctant to hold long positions recently.

No Shortie i mean over a period of days or even a week or two (like holding a stock) you could hold a FTSE trade ,it may go up and down but in good times may put on a couple hundred points ?

Sometimes I do Jimmy, but only if I'm in profit e.g. letting them run. Wouldn't do it on the off chance of recovering a loss. Right now though was theres alot of direction I'm only after small runs, but am prepared to stake high!
