This whole 'Euro thing', in it's ENTIRETY is quite simply a cynical manipulation of us plebs. It is now and forever will be just a never ending gravy train for the blokes who's ONLY hope, (but definite ambition to achieve), of any kind of 'grandeur' in a pseuedo business field, is to get in, then ride, the political gravy train. Sure, there are a few 'businessmen' in there who MIGHT do well on their own account in civvy street, but there are MANY more, well qualified or not, who would be eaten alive in business, where performance is readily measured. They know this to be true and so tell us lies to become our political 'leaders' and then do just the same as every other politician/beurocrat, tell us one thing then do the other. Have we forgotten so soon how our MP's voted themselves a fantastic salary hike? Do you imagine THEY will worry about their pensions ? Nope.
If and WHEN the 'Federation' of europe dawns, lots of the buggers, (and their whole departments) will be unassailably appointed and we wont be able to do a thing to stop it all.
Socialist? Moi? nope, a conservative (usually...) but as it said on a tee-shirt I once saw, "Same trough, different snouts", says it all really doesn't it.
We should ditch the euro, europeans et al and simply TRADE with whoever. At least we can kick out our own politicians now and then, not that we are any better off with the substitutes, but it does give us a certain "good riddance" cheer up doesn't it. Try getting rid of a 'euro directorate' !!

I can see prices going up as has happened when we went decimal. But long term i believe it to be beneficial.
