The WHITE HART is next to a petrol station and also opposite another petrol station (on the A30). There is a church (St John the Evangelist) immediately the other side of the petrol station on the same side as the pub (got it?!)
The other pub (OLD WHITE HART) is 100 yards away on the other side of the mini roundabout from the petrol stations, so don't go there.

From the railway station:
If you come in from the London direction, cross the footbridge, walk up the approach road (you will see The Raven hotel on your right), carry on up the main road 50 yds to a mini roundabout. Bear right into the A30 and the White Hart is on your right after another 50 yds. (Less than 5 min walk).
If coming in from Southampton/Basingstoke direction by train, simply leave station on that side and walk up ramp as above.
If travelling by car via M3:
Coming from London, exit J5 and take 4th exit off roundabout signposted Reading and Hook; take first exit (straight on) at next roundabout (300 yds); go over railway bridge and take right onto A30 at mini roundabout. Car park for White Hart on right before petrol station (< 50 yds). Also free pay & display (after 6pm?) on left at same location.
Coming from Basingstoke, exit J5 and take 2nd exit signposted Reading and Hook; then as above.
Approaching via A30:
From London, enter Hook and pub is on left just after petrol stations (one either side) but before mini roundabout.
From Basingstoke, enter Hook and DO NOT turn right into the OLD white Hart before the mini roundabout. Instead, cross mini roundabout and our White Hart is on the right before the petrol stations.
Approaching from Reading (B road (can't remember number) after leaving A33 at Stratfield Saye). Follow the B road (Griffin Way North on the linked map) until the roundabout that joins the A30. Turn right (3rd exit) into Hook village and pub is on left just after petrol stations (one either side) but before mini roundabout.
Easy when you know how!
