Should there be a MoneyAM HOME button on Terminal header?
---------------------------------------------------------
In Internet Explorer about 1/3 of my screen is wasted.
I have
the Explorer headers: with minimize maximize and kill icons
File, edit, view, fav, ..
back, forward, stop, refresh, ...
address bar
google search, etc.
Then on this site I have
Logo and advertising
stockwatch, level 2, portfolio, ...
market scan, chart, terminal
Then useful space where one "works"
And finally, the bottom of explorer,
and the windows START, quickstart, active programs, etc.
====================================
That means the top 1/3 is often wasted.
A solution is to hit F11 and get rid of a lot of it.
This means the forward and back buttons etc disappear.
I recommend hitting F11 to use the terminal, to provide even more space, even though MoneyAM have kindly removed their header with all the link to different tools.
But I think you have gone just one step to far.
There is then no easy way back.
Should there be a MoneyAM HOME button on Terminal header?

Oops there is!
The MONEYAM logo is active where it sometimes passive, see
http://www.moneyam.com/action/terminal/showViews
Marks for functionality, but not for consistency and clarity!

crystalclear,
Thanks for the feedback and I am glad you are finding Terminal useful.
In answer to some of your questions:
After the 7 day free trial your account will revert back to the level it was on before - there is no charge for this trial.
With regard to the windows menu, I will get out tech guys to take a look at this to see if there is anything we can do. I will also point out the logo thing you have raised.
Thanks
Ian

To get the maximum viewing area in IE.
1 Let all the windows load then hide the terminal tool bar.
2 Then press F11 on your keyboard to set IE to Full screen.
One trick that realy shows Terminal to its full advantage is the group setting feature.
In one window put your stockwatch list say list of FT100 shares and set this to group 1
Then have 4 more windows with say
1 Intraday streaming chart
2 Level 2
3 News
4 Trades
any epic will do
and again make all of those group 1
Now when you click on the Epic in your stock watch list all the other 4 windows will change to the same epic showing you a snap shot of all the important information on that share.
Click another epic in the stock watch window and again the other 4 will change to the new epic
Neat eh?

Very neat
I'll try it
To be honest, I spend more time on other sites due to higher BB activity.
But if you offer better service, and with things like this its looking like you will, then people should migrate over time.
As a bit of an aside, is MoneyAM floated, or private?

Could someone please tell me why occasionally I get a mis-match between my stockwatch and my portfolio. At the moment stockwatch is showing an increase in the price of Top tiles of 1.7%. But in my portfolio it is only showing as an increase of 0.9% on the day.

Sorry Folks
Please ignore the previous question of mine. It was obviously a time delay problem. Although changes mostly occur almost at the same time in both stockwatch and portfolio for some reason there was a 30 min gap with this one.
Cheers

You have the following views defined:-
View
MyShares
Create new view
Powered by IST's
====================
Thats the page displayed when I hit TERMINAL.
From there I select the view "MyView" and the browser opens a new window.
I don't see any value in having the new window, which may need positioning and/or resizing, compared to just using the existing window.

I tried the STOCKWATCH sub-window.
I selected Group 1 as instructed.
Autorefresh - to make sure it displayed something, as I'm learning.
Autorefresh 90s, as I may have a slow link and don't want to overload it when learning
And Mode stream, to have things updated, I assume.
I also set the watchlist to one of my watchlists.
(It seems I have created a few in the process of trying to get things to work.)
There are two things that stopped it being userfriendly to dumb people like me.
1. I didn't realise watchlist was a menu, rather than the option I needed. SO Initially it was set as its default instead of me haveing a watchlist selected.
Maybe it should default to the user's first watchlist.
2. I was changing things and nothing was happening.
T try to sort it out, I was creating more watchlists and slecting things again in the menu, saving, checking group numbers, etc.
It turned out my problem was simply an OK button which was off-screen due to a scroll bar. I hadn't seen it and never pressed it. This means all my changes were going nowhere.
So there are a few things you could improve, but it seems useable once the interface is learned or set up the way one likes it.

I had a charts subwindow and a trades subwindow. Neither had a group set and both were displaying EPIC ATV, Antonov.
The I set the charts window to Group 1 and it picked up the new EPIC CER all by itself when I hit OK. I changed the trades window to Group 1. But it stayed as ATV until I did something - not sure what, maybe refresh.
Maybe its the timing of the refresh and I got lucky with one and not the other.
I'm just saying this so you have the user freedback. I'm not griping.
This is the best software I've seen for this.
I'm impressed.
When Antonov hit 1.66 and I'm left with 1 per share after tax I'll probably become a paying customer for this.
Until then there is no point in following prices on a minute by minute basis for something I'm unlikely to sell this year!

I would like to thank you for the opportunity to try out this stuff, particularly lev 2. Terminal is clearly a useful tool, so I need to save up my pennies and maybe I can have one in the future. Worst discovery is that lev 2, and stockwatch streaming I have subsequently been told, are firewalled out at my office so even if I could afford these lovely toys, they won't work, bugger!
Thanks anyway

to ian t at money am........you have a task in reading all the chat comments.
congratulations on your good work.
i have now pressed the help button to reveal the help fields. i the pressed the button for help abbout leval 2.....and there is a useful free article about leval 2
i have extensive investment experiance over many years. i can say that what moneyam has to offer is really excellent. i have been a market eye subscriber for some years at a hefty annual fee. what money am has to offer is vastly superior to market eye.
