NXT produce the best LCD TV known to man? (NTX)

maestro - 07 May 2006 22:12

nice new nxt telly...
http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?page=6533&head=0

and going by the review, they've managed to up the bass somewhat.

"We piped an action scene or two into the 37PF9830s NXT speakers not, in truth, expecting very much. After all, similar speakers built into a previous generation of Philips LCD TVs were pretty darned average. But Philips engineers appear to have sat down with NXT over a few beers and come up with improvements galore, to the point where the amount of power, bass, and clarity now on show at least rivals if not betters the audio from the normal speakers found on other high quality LCD TVs. "

Verdict

The 37PF9830 is a true LCD TV masterclass. Yes its expensive. But what do you expect from a TV that manages to give you a native 1080-line resolution, more features than the rest of the LCD world put together, a sumptuous design, and arguably the best high definition picture quality known to man?

Jam tomorrow since I first came across them in 1998. It was around that time there was a report that we'd have our car windscreens as speakers within a couple of years. Might phone Autoglass and see when they're getting them in. ;-))

It has proved a good trader long and short over the years though. To find anything fundamentally attractive is lunacy IMO.

I'm still taking the piss out of a mate who refused to sell them when they got over 20 during the dot-com boom.

NTX looking very weak now. It has always been a solution looking for a problem.

It suffers in the same way that many 'concept' stocks do. Investors fall in love with the technology and fail to realise that there may be no one who knows how to run the company.

Big Al - 18 Jul 2006 22:27 - 17 of 32

A very familiar story of a company that sold the cash generative part of the business to follow a pipedream during the mad times if I remember. Marconi was probably the best example.

Haystack - 07 Aug 2006 11:30 - 18 of 32

It has just fallen below a major support level and is the lowest SP since early 2003.

Haystack - 21 Sep 2006 10:38 - 19 of 32

Another substantial fall today and it is close to its all-time low.

funny i bought today....revenues increasing and more products being brought to market...the future sounds bright, the future is NXT

Haystack - 21 Sep 2006 11:45 - 21 of 32

The market seems to have a different opinion, so do I. It has looked like a slowly dying company for some time now.

YOU MUST BE LOOKING AT A DIFFERENT SET OF RESULTS....THIS IS A VERY STRONG BUY...10 BAGGER IN 2 YEARS

Haystack - 21 Sep 2006 11:51 - 23 of 32

A 10 bagger that is almost at an all-time low.

Haystack the hoodie shill

Haystack - 21 Sep 2006 15:06 - 25 of 32

This is still loss making. Its net assets have beeen reduced substantially compared to last year and it has a market cap of around 5 times net assets. This is going a lot lower yet.

hlyeo98 - 27 Sep 2006 10:20 - 26 of 32

Shares magazine says this is a BUY, Haystack.

Big Al - 27 Sep 2006 13:27 - 27 of 32

Better short it then! ;-)))

goldfinger - 27 Sep 2006 13:45 - 28 of 32

Been both short and long on NTX. To be honest I dont think it really as a future. The business model is totaly flawed.

NTX is now at its all-time low and looking like going a lot lower yet. My target is a brief pause at 5p before heading sub 1p.

maestro - 05 Oct 2006 16:35 - 30 of 32
