I would like to put in a marriage proposal to the
homemaker/super trader from the Russion Federation...
that ticks all my boxes

only 23 out of 600 in profit
that will teach people
the merits of shorting

you will notice that the top 5 increase
every time the market moves down
Wonder why that is :-)

I think the game came at an unfortunate time though. The FTSE250 has lost as much as 10% in the last three weeks and the 100 isn't doing well either so this is no market to pick a few long positions and hope for a decent performance, which is I suspect what people were doing. I still think the winner will be a long or short person who punts everything on one stock and gets lucky with a 50%+ return. In fact, I think I can name the share the current leader has his 100K short on ;-)

Still, I'm fascinated by some of the stats being generated. Hopefully it's proving a learning experience for some people who are relatively new to shares assuming some of them are. It's certainly forcing me to confront some issues about my trading style - and it's once again reminded me of the perils of trading while ill as I had complete brain-fade this morning! :-|

It wouldn't let me put 100% into one trade , only 50%.

Dil,

Is that your first trade you are talking about or susequent ones since then.

Bullshare - 29 Apr 2005 15:40 - 165 of 550

Dil,now second! Looking behind the scenes at the top ten it looks like some have made good profits from shorting BPRG a few days ago!

Kyoto - 29 Apr 2005 16:04 - 166 of 550

How come Dil and Compoundup never seem to show up as either Bears or Bulls? Surely they're not both running at 50% all the time? Or are they pairs trading?!

compoundup - 29 Apr 2005 16:43 - 167 of 550

All bear in my case K

Kyoto - 29 Apr 2005 16:50 - 168 of 550

Thanks Compoundup - just curious as to what's working out statistically. It's a pity that if the stats aren't a full picture of what's going on.

Dil - 29 Apr 2005 17:36 - 169 of 550

Of the 15k profit Kyoto , about 10k made on a short and a 10k gain and 5k loss on 2 longs.
