Why no big jump in share price on this news ?

kimoldfield - 24 Feb 2006 09:33 - 15048 of 27111

Yes it was buried deep in the report, very obscure, but it did make me think.....the figure was $163m I think, NOT ENOUGH!!

Still think punters are awaiting the results, in case of any nasty suprises ( can't see there being any myself ) then no doubt it will take off.

Yes, early trading showed the faint hearted getting out quick, probably based on the "why give this good news now, results must be worse than expected" theory. My heart is solid!! No matter what the past results were, the future is the only important thing now and with everything that is going on around SEO it has to be goooood?!

kimoldfield,

Yes, I agree. The RNS being price sensitive had to be released, but yes many will think why now.

robinhood - 24 Feb 2006 09:59 - 15052 of 27111

oh bling oh bling..............april brent crude up $0.70 p/bbl..........seo up 1 point....tgif

aldwickk - 24 Feb 2006 10:04 - 15053 of 27111

Seems a few people were slow to pick up on the news, over on the AOL bb there is no mention of the news and i know there are many who hold them. I got back in @ 16.43.

aldwickk - 24 Feb 2006 10:06 - 15054 of 27111

Weekend press to look forward to.

Biscuit - 24 Feb 2006 10:12 - 15055 of 27111

I don't think this news is showing correctly, if you go in under seo on the London Stock Exchange site, this RNS doesn't show up. I haven't recieved my usual email when there's an RNS from companyannouncements. I believe some people may not have seen the news.

stockdog - 24 Feb 2006 10:12 - 15056 of 27111

Predateur

1) I believe SEO's strategy is to use its own funds for R&D and marketing, but to use JV partners to finance and manage manufacture - so I don't necessarily see a capital raising in prospect.

2) You idea of a collective access by PI's to sahre issues, toally agree - I have read somewhere in the last 3-6 months there is a broker of some sorts offering just that service. Sorry, can't for life of me recall what, where who, but it struck me as a great idea - all professional FSA reg'd etc. - was it RHPS or MoneyWeek?

Bos - hang your chips on the radiator, there's still time to dry them off. They didn't make the RNS announcement to let us know talks had gone badly!

Chartwise, I love the gap-up break out above the recent 16p resistance level - fabulous news.

I hope the press make some comment this time! I bought SEO on a Daily Telegraph tip when the sp was 3p, they have not had much to say about them since then (glad I followed the tip though!)

im in for a few at 16.45 haVe these from last year 21 and 23.5 hoping this news should close the gap this year, contract with walmart that was the dream that pushed the share price up last year.

jameshunt1985 - 24 Feb 2006 10:35 - 15059 of 27111

Hi all,

I've been following stanelco on this bulletin board since I bought in to SEO back in november of last year. Been loving the Bling Banter!! Hope you don't mind me throwing some of my opinions and predictions in to the BB soup to hear what you peps think.

To date no profit to speak of except that peak of 18 over xmas until today, I felt today may be a good day to start getting involved. As a couple of posters have said this morning, I think the reluctance for large investments from MM is purely due to the famine of figures, all these deals and announcements are all great and it bodes well for the future, but it gives no indication as to where SEO are right now and that I'm sure inhibits investment. Alan you were right on it on post 15013, when you're basically saying it all hinges on the figures on results day. I think by Walmarts excitement over the product, the ASDA figues should also be as expected or slightly better.

The next couple of days are gonna be really exciting can't wait!!

bring on the next tetrapak!!!

Hunty!

hewittalan6 - 24 Feb 2006 10:40 - 15060 of 27111

Welcome James. (Do you keep budgies?)
All views, good or bad, are very welcome, and I am sure you are right. Even diehard SEO holders bemoan the fact that RNS after RNS foretells of future riches, without putting a number anywhere. But to be fair, it is difficult to quantify that which is still being trialled.
On that basis, I will treat any financial forecasts in the coming statement with a little cynicism, and will look at trial results and numbers of conversions, coupled with a guesstimate on Starpol.

kimoldfield - 24 Feb 2006 10:49 - 15061 of 27111

I hope they give a full list of what is and isn't theirs following the court case, I think the sp is showing an element of uncertainty in that direction

kim

greekman - 24 Feb 2006 10:52 - 15062 of 27111

Alan,

Re above. Appears to be the most sensible approach to the results. We have been promised jam tomorrow several times , so when it does seem just round the corner, a little bit of cynicism/reality is needed. I am looking to the future but through my glasses with a little bit of less rose colored tint.

nickrichards - 24 Feb 2006 11:41 - 15063 of 27111

I can find no RNS for this morning, only AFX. could someone post it on this thresd please!

thanks

Biscuit - 24 Feb 2006 11:47 - 15064 of 27111

I think there was a problem with the RNS, doesn't show properly on London Stock Exchange site either.

bhunt1910 - 24 Feb 2006 11:48 - 15065 of 27111
