FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

This maybe a silly question but could you trade using a credit card[s] and pay back b4 they charge interest ?

skinny - 05 Apr 2014 10:52 - 15062 of 21973

You can pay with a credit card (I've never done it), but I assume it would be treated as any other cash withdrawal and you would be charged interest from day 1.

A slippery path anyway?

aldwickk - 05 Apr 2014 13:52 - 15063 of 21973

I was thinking more of day trading

skinny - 05 Apr 2014 14:49 - 15064 of 21973

Probably best to speak to the credit card supplier, although I can't see them giving you a free cash advance - even if it is repaid on the same day.

aldwickk - 05 Apr 2014 15:05 - 15065 of 21973

I have a 4 day overdraft interest free from my bank

skinny - 05 Apr 2014 15:13 - 15066 of 21973

Many bank accounts have free overdrafts - but you asked about using a credit card.
