Bioprogress (BPRG)

scorpion - 13 Aug 2003 13:54

Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Nice bit of buying pressure now
hopefully close blue

Bit cheeky of GH to spring this rns

He'll need to come up with some numbers to really get the SP moving

AdieH - 22 Nov 2004 10:06 - 1509 of 2372

Yes we keep getting these regarding trials etc but we need some figures...

A general point concerning 'shorting' and 'borrowing' by the Institutions and Hedge Funds. It is, and has been for some time general practice to hedge positions. So if you are holding a convertible Bond for instance, and you want to hedge your position/s, then there is a market mechanism available to do so. Often you will need to 'borrow' the shares off someone in order to cover yourself, and many of the Pension Funds allow this to happen and in return gain a fee for so doing. Apologies to all readers who already know this, but having read through this BB it is clear that a lot of people were a little concerned about this operation last week, hence my comment.

Now I say all this in relation to what some BB posters suggested was a reason for the BPRG SP fall last week. In fact, we are looking in that particular case at a maximum of 2% or so, of the shares in issue to cover the Convertible Bond. It would have made no difference at all to what happened last week and IMO no blame wahtsoever should be pointed at them, it really was just another good way to add to the scary rumour mill that got going last week on the BB's.

With many of these small companies it is I think important to retain a view on the prospects going forward, and the hurdles it may have to jump over in order to really bring home the bacon. Clearly there is need for BPRG to re-inforce the Board and management structure, but that is all about a company continuing to grow. For the record I hold shares in BPRG.

Ian , there are more unsubstantiated posts on the site (not just this thread) than substantiated ones so why just remove one ?

Who was it / have they been told ?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 22 Nov 2004 13:41 - 1512 of 2372

Dil,

The matter has been dealt with and we took a decision to remove it, the matter is now closed.

Regards

Ian

I thought I recognised a few of your many 1000 aliases. It comes to something when you complain about your own postings:-)

Niceone emailpat.

IMO a good trading opportunity at these levels but Big Al will no doubt want to see his double cheek pattern before taking the plunge!

emailpat - 23 Nov 2004 10:08 - 1524 of 2372

johngtudor-I think he has accepted one cheek;-)

Dil - 23 Nov 2004 13:20 - 1525 of 2372

The bounce since Friday seems to have very little steam in it john and my guess would be a retest of the lows so still too risky to go long at present imo.

Fred1new - 23 Nov 2004 15:11 - 1526 of 2372

Stuck my neck out an bought some more at 65.5p. Recorded as a sale on trade screen. I think a number of sale shown are actually buys. Sold a holding of TEP to do so.

Dil - 23 Nov 2004 15:44 - 1527 of 2372

Those screens are only an indication Fred , trades are often reported the wrong way.
