Oh well, I've emailed them, so see what they say. Just wondering if alot of people have actually seen it as yet, as may be looking at RNS.

I'm in my 40th year at Leeds. Not Leeds University, just Leeds.
What a city!
Excellent choice of a place to study, Hunty. Particularly the Unis faculty of alcoholic beverages, otherwise known as the Original Oak.

hewittalan6 - 24 Feb 2006 16:13 - 15100 of 27111

A strong Leeds contingent on here.
Perhaps we should have the SEO party that was going to happen last year in Doncaster in Leeds instead!!!
Anyone for a couple of pints in the New Penny, then over the road to bananas nightclub???

driver - 24 Feb 2006 16:21 - 15101 of 27111

Al
Sorry Al, Doncaster is set in stone my Grandson lives there, for the newbies we are having a drink at Holiday Inn DONCASTER formerly The Moat House when we get to 50p.

hewittalan6 - 24 Feb 2006 16:33 - 15102 of 27111

Okay, Donny it is for the 50p party.
Leeds can be for the 1 one.
(Only joking - not ramping, don't jump down my throat)

greekman - 24 Feb 2006 17:20 - 15106 of 27111

Jimward9,

Thanks for that.

Bugz - 24 Feb 2006 17:43 - 15107 of 27111

Evening all.

Ok I'm confused-after being very gun-ho this morning from this release, I simply have NO idea why on earth this announcement has been released like it has. Why not just do it on monday? Why hasnt it come via the normal RNS root? Its all a bit strange. Not that I'm overly worried, but I think thats why we're trading lower than the level I was expecting this morning-was hoping for closing in the 17 region.

With regards to the ASDA trials-of course they're going well!!!! I dont think however we're going to see any movement upwards from the original 200, if that is they are on time, which is touch and go considering T&G's report from the end of last year.

This annoucement just formalises meetings and informal agreements which stretch back over a year, the rumours and mumourings of which stirred the sp into the 30p's-the details hopefully will arrive early next week. Lets all just hope that the AGM will be void of any statements like 'we will update the market in due course.......'!

For once Howard, lets have some substance!!!!

No chance

Bugz
I agree, but what it has done is has told us that Wal Mart are interested very interested in fact and that big deals may be very big deals are on there way, what ever the results might bring.

Biscuit - 24 Feb 2006 17:56 - 15110 of 27111

Big trades at the end today.

hewittalan6 - 24 Feb 2006 17:59 - 15111 of 27111

Take your point, Bugz, and I would like to see some substance, but........
To my knowledge, WalMart were never mentioned in any official release from SEO til now. The heady days of 30p+ were based on Asda and guesswork, whispers and rumours. So the news of a definite tie up with WM is substantive.
And it is a tie up. We may not have news of a contract but WM are fast tracking SEO products in certain areas. This is not the talk of negotiations, this is the talk of a contract being in place and WM wanting certain things to happen quickly, even if other areas of the contract remain to be finalised.
If anyone is expecting results that include phrases like 50 squillion tons of Starpol per year, then i fear they will be disappointed. It is more likely to read that "an agreement" has been reached for WM to take some SEO product and it is envisaged this will be the start of much larger supplies.
After all, that is probably closer to the truth. My reading of todays release is that the two are working together to commercialise Starpol and Greenseal on WMs terms.
Having had a look at the WM website they are proud of acting as a kind of mentor to suppliers and I think this is more likely the relationship, rather than the simple contract to buy quantity we would prefer.
On Greenseal and Asda I think we will be shy of 200 conversions by the end of the exclusivity period. That is why I think the trials have been succesful enough to warrant Asda reporting to WM and WM mentoring SEO with a view to maximising the technology so that WM can use it broadly and succesfully.
After all SEO could hardly take on the whole of WM if 200 Asda conversions in a year are beyond them.
Monday will tell, but I don't expect a crackerjack statement.
Having said that I have a history of being woefully wrong.
Anyone else have thoughts and prepared to look as big a tit as me on Monday?
Alan
