Virtual memory set at 1534 Mb, apparently this seems to be the max availble. I seem to recall changing this in the distant past
Machine Ram is 1024 Mb

I am thinking that it could be the graphics accelerator chip on the motherboard since it it is not specific to either graphics card and I would have assumed I had enough memory.
Might load up my other computer with my software and see if the situation changes.
Lesson to us all No 1. Just cleaning up the inner wheels etc on the mouse, found I had bought 2 Dax future contracts by mistake! Even better, the price was now 2 pts ahead. Must be doing something right.

D, if scart is to line out on VCR thats why, scart should be input (line in) on VCR to record.

Thanks Spaceman, this f*cking techno stuff is not for me, bought the video about a year ago, first time i've tried to use it and the poxy thing is so bleeding complicated i cant understand it. Only want to record and watch every now and then but there are so many buttons even that becomes complicated :)

Is that an incoming ariel in the sense of an Archangel or a box of washing powder?

Thanks for all your help regarding my graphics problem.
The problem seems to have been resolved using System Restore. I think I downloaded the new driver after I accessed the windows update site and a piece of software that was downloaded there was incompable with my driver software. I therefore went to the ati site and downloaded the "latest" drivers which seemed to cause the problems.
As I say I have reverted to the earlier drivers, still for Xp, don't know why they don't leave things alone!

Every day (and recently twice per day) I receive messages such as this:
Your important document, correction is finished!
++++ Attachment: No Virus found
++++ Norton AntiVirus - www.symantec.de
Attached is a 29k zip file entitled document richard_zip
Opening it would be stupid I know, but how do you stop them, they normally come from hotmail addresses? Any ideas anyone - I'm bored with deleting them!

CS, that is as I think you realise almost certainly a virus. The text is known for netsci and varients. Delete and clear from deleted items. This will be rife in the Hotmail domain but will probably die down in a few days or weeks.

Spaceman & Kayak - Thanks very much - it is viral and contains the W32/Netsky-P virus. Guess what, I've been sent it again twice this lunchtime, both from domain names I traced and mailed the webmaster at both of them, which appear to be respectable companies. More when I get a reply (if I do).
